Replacing ipod screens

i droped my ipod a while ago and a few days ago i found a gen 3 ipod that had been run over in the street the thing still works but i was wondering if its possible to transfer the screen over to my 4th gen ipod

Hey monkeys...you can replace the screen and it's not hard at all.

Open up the ipod, disconnect the ribbon cable from the screen, attach the new monitor, put everything back together.

Should be fine after that. Go on google and search ipod inside pictures. The pictures on there alone let you know you can do it. I've done it before for someone.

yeah i know ive opened up the gen three but i was wondering if the connecters are the same and if the gen 3 screen will work in the gen 4

^ happened to my friend last year, don't think he got it on warranty so he was pissed since it was going to cost him a heap to fix it. Not sure what he did in the end now I come to think about it.

how do you open an ipod. they are solid

you have to push on teh back off teh case then push a guitar pick/ butter knife into the slot that opens up on teh side then you just pry up and teh back of the case pops off doing it with a guitar pick wont hurt it

If your tricky you can crack open the back and put in colored plactic so you dont have the boring blue all the time. Green is sick

 
you can also buy nre screens on ebay, look at google on how to do it
