Removing rust from rails

I recently found a really nice rail in a storage but it's all rusty. I'd love to use it for my summer setup but I don't want to ride it because it'll probably fuck my bases up. What's the best way to remove all this rust? What should I do?

If you have a crappy old pair of skis just hit the rail a bunch of times and it should scrap off the rust. you could just use ur normal skis to it wouldn't be that much worse than hitting normal rails anyway

actually just get some WD40 and rub it on the rail it costs like 5 bucks at the hardware store.

use a grinder with a wire wheel on it, best way.

Just get a soft gummy stone and rub away

the grinder is a good idea, but with any of these you should paint it after or else it will rust again in a week
