Remove grips from K2 carbon pole

I want to shorten these poles. The grips themselves come off easily, but the sheath on the inside isn’t budging. I’ve been heat gunning it and trying pull it off but it won’t budge. Is this epoxied to the carbon and it’s hopeless or do I just need to pull harder?



All else fails I’ll just cut them a bit shorter and cut some pvc pipe in half and put it around the bottom to make up for the lost bit on the top.

Could try holding them in a pot of boiling water.

I figured if adhesive was the problem then the heat gun would have done it but can't hurt to try.

Just cut them shorter, theres no use going through all the trouble for a couple of inches

in the end I couldn’t get that part off so I cut them anyway and just put tape where the grip was now over the pole instead of the sheath. Seems fine.

Clearly you're supposed to cut the poles from the bottom. Do it
