Remote Controlled "Ski Boat"

itd be cool if they made one that can put out a decent wake for wakeboarding. but also, once you fall the thing stops it self, but your still gonna have to go for a swim after the handle, wont you?

yeah, i imagine a little bit of swimming would be involved. it'd be cool if you could wear some sort of a watch type control in addition to the handle so you could drive it back to get you when you crash.

And maybe something that wakes for it self too... Just ride with a buddy, you antisocial fuckers.

when you get a little older, and people start to get careers, it's not always easy to get a driver and a rider to take you on a rip. especially early morning when the water is the best, or in the middle of the week when people are working.

i live on the water. it'd be dope to be able to just grab my stuff and go without having to try and round up two other people at 7 am to go take a glass water run. i wouldn't trade in my boat for one of these things, but it'd be cool to have so I could go take runs whenever I want.

how well do you think it adjusts to pull on the rope, i know when driving my boat and someone is slalom skiing you have to pull against them a little to keep on a straight course and so they keep tension when carving a turn. This seem kind of small and not capable of keeping a straight course.

it depends on which one you have. the older one will just cut power immediately. you can see it in action in the video. the 2012 model will actually circle around to within 10 feet of you, and then drift in to you. so basically it will pick you up.

the '12 model looks fuckin' sick with the wedge to make a bigger wake for wakeboarding/wakeskiing...plus the "pick up" ability. i want one.

i wonder how much these things are going for though?

Dont you have to have a flagger for when you fall? Maybe thats just our lake, but I know you can get a ticket for not having another person in the boat

they said they've gotten legislation passed in 39 states approving the use. "in some instances, we actually had to get the legislatures out on the water to show them how safe it really is.."

I'd love to see the list of 39 states, couldn't find it on their site. Had to sell my boat because of too many no 3rd tickets.

yeah, for sure. i've been hit up for it, too. that's what he said in the video in the OP though. that was actually the first thought that went through my mind when i originally saw this - how is this even legal considering that you have to have a spotter? but apparently they've addressed the issue. what i don't get is how can a state allow something like this, but then turn around and give someone a ticket for no third? maybe i'll email them and ask them for a listing of the states and the legality, etc.
