First thing I had ever hit was a rail and i just fell of instantly, then i put a 4x4 piece of wood in the ground and started on that in my back yard, up to a pvc pipe and so forth.

yeah, when i started jibbing boxes didn't exist. I was hitting single barrel rails for like three years before I even saw a box.

I still can't take box's seriously, and any trick on a box isn't legit in my mind.

Yep

I remember asking a kid how to go sideways.

Then that winter, i got a big black like bar and put it like 6 inches off the ground on 2X4's and was skiing that.

Then at northstar, I saw a rail that looked JUST LIKE the one i had in my backyard, so i was like "i'll hit it, and i did!" first rail and box in the same season, i was so fucking stoked.

I remember my first box, was kinda nervous going into it, finally it happened and it was real slippery and felt so good but it was over way to fast.

yes about 6 years ago now probably around 05' 06'ish 50 50ed a 10 foot ride on like a boss in rental skis

i remember the day. my friend and i, rocking our rentals, hit the same flat box maybe 200 times in a row. nothing but railslides. first try i ate mega shit though

my first rail attempt when I was 9 and I fell and hit my head then went and fell asleep in the ledge for like 2 hours hahaha good times. It just gets better and better from here, congrats man!

/images/flash_video_placeholder.png more of a rail, i'm the goofy mofo in the tiedye. it was a funny time haha

Yep. As if I could forget. Mt Shasta, CA.

The sound of my skis on the box made me jump out of the rental life and into a sport I love more than anything else.

Stratton mountain, last season

went up with my friend who was semi okay at park, and there was a tiny rainbow box on the side of a trail, and i mean tiny as in the peak was a foot off the ground and it was 8 feet long.

i 50/50'd and then i remember asking him how to go sideways, tried it, ate shit, got up, tried it again and stomped it switch. first day of park in my life, by the end of that day i was hitting the 4ft high up rail to frontside 270 out. /claim

I HAVE VIDEO I THINK

two boxes connected. 50/50 the first one and then 90 for the second. can this be considered innovative, looking back at it?

hahaha seriously

back in my first year of boxes and rails i had a solid bruise on my hip the whole season

Haha my first 360, box and rail were all on snowblades. It must've been at least a good 5-6 years ago for me. The 360 I did was over some little hip feature. I remember losing my balance when landing so many times on those damn snowblades. Did anyone else ever have problems landing on those dumb things? haha

lol. me and buddies just kept falling if we tried to slide sideways hahahahaha. it was mission impossible to go sideways, god.

I can't remember. Fell onto the edge and took a nice and neat concussion...I'm told I proceeded to successfully throw a triple misty 10 japan with my eyes closed.

Yeah, tonight. Rode off the edge so many times. Finally slid the whole thing, had no speed at the end and just stepped off. Was a good time.

first rail/box: ski blades this november on a freshpark rail in my backyard and i did a 270 off it too.

First legit one: Keystone opening day, it was my first day ever on real skis (not snowblades, and i had snowboarded last season and every season since i was 5) It was my first time ever on skis and i hit every box they had set up (flat, down, up flat down, down flat, flat down) it was such a dope day. Most of my friends say i am progressing insanely fast too.

I remember jumping on sideways and sliding for like a second and being like "im tom wallisch!" haha and then instantly falling on my shoulder and hit my funny bone.. not tom wallisch

For sure i remember it. First every park night in the glasgow snozone and didnt have park skis so had to do it on regular rentals. Got on slid the box a peach tried to ride out switch and just stacked it. I was used to rollerblading so hitting boxes was no different i just had no idea or way of skiing switch. After not landing a single trick all night i went home and bought my current park skis an havent looked back.
