Religion

>implying reincarnation is a religion.

"Religion is the belief in and worship of a god or gods, or more in general a set of beliefs explaining the existence of and giving meaning to the universe."

reincarnation is a general set of beliefs of what happens when you die... therefore dictating how you live your life and what the meaning of life is.

>implying believing that you come back to life after you die explains the existence of the universe or the meaning of life.

You can believe in reincarnation as part of your Buddhist belief system or whatever... but its not a religion in itself.

I don't stick to a single religion. I believe that there is a greater force out there and that when you die you don't just cease to exist but i don't know what happens after death. I like to believe in heaven, but i don't think that you go to a fluffy white place up in the clouds after death. I tend to believe that the soul stays with the body, but the state it's in (pain, peacefulness, ect) is taken from how they lived their life. So if they were a bad person, they would be forever restless and in constant discomfort.

you suck at implying shit. you're just repeating what they just said.

its their choice if they want to believe in a soul.

deal with it.

My thoughts on religion? I think that any religion that claims to have a monopoly morality, yet still believes in a supervisor deity that provides reward for following that morality is both contradictory, and ironically, not true morality. I support organized religions that promote self-improvement and enlightenment in place of a traditional structured law. Jainism, non-deist Buddhism, Taoism, are all great, because they understand that peace can only be achieved in the external world if internal peace is achieved first. Speak softly, harm no living being, live well, work hard etc.
I do not enjoy how Judeo-Christian religions dictate that humans are masters of their world, rather than a part of it. It's appallingly high-minded.

I'm Catholic. Well, let me explain.

I believe there is a God that created everything. I believe Jesus existed but was not the son of God. I do believe he was inspired by a higher being (just as Ghandi, Dalai Lama(Who I will be seeing this October at my university)), and others of the sort. I grew up Catholic and went to church every sunday for about 18 years. During high school I started to grow apart from the Church. Not my faith, but the Church. I don't believe the bible is true, but divinely inspired writers who wrote the Bible as means to inspire. Not tell exactly how everything was created. I also believe that all other religions are relating to the same God (As in there is 1 higher being). I know this is the views of Universalists, but I prefer just to call myself Catholic as many of my morals lean that way. I don't necessarily follow the church and their stances on many things such as abstinence and what not.

But in the end no one can really know. Religion was created so humans could understand what happens throughout a persons life and after it as well. To me, it just makes sense that there is someone out there. Is one person right or wrong? Not really. Will someone be punished if their view is wrong? I don't think so.

Christian, but I too get pissed off at some people that say their Christian then go round judging and bible bashing people (which is against what the Bible says to do) but most people don't know that and just get annoyed at Christianity as a whole and thats completely fair enough. Then they go out and do exactly the same stuff they judge people for doing. So yeah, I defiantly have a strong faith but understand where all the hatred comes from for Christianity because there are a lot of hypocritical Christians out there and they piss me off too.
