Refresh vs. EDIAS: The Clear Victor

Most kids on NS didn't experience the impact of 1242 first hand. Peps 1242 segment doesn't come off quite as mind blowing if you watched IDEA and Hunting Yeti first. And Vanulars LSS segment might not come off as groundbreaking to kids who have been watching 4bi9 edits the past 3 years.

If you weren't there when those movies came out it's really hard to wrap your mind around how ahead of their time they were.

i dont really think casabon surpasses wallisch on technicality... his style on rails is better and smooter flowing for instanse his presses are by far the best presses out of anyone... but wallisch has more tech tricks and slides harder rails like 270 on blind switchup 270 out on that urban that he does after he talks about how chill sweden is... i though that some of the rails that wallisch did in the sweden part were out of control... and then u can even argue wesson has the most tech tricks with all his taps and stuff, i mean under switch-up k-fed? come on that was out of control and so were the majority of his other tricks

thought EDIAS was amazing, and was super excited to see refresh, but having just watched it i have to say i'm pretty dissapointed. for me, refresh just didnt flow at all, i know warren miller is a legend and all but his narration kinda ruined the fluidity of the film, and the soundtrack didnt help either - after watching turbo i wanted to go find all the songs, but refresh's soundtrack was a massive let down

also really sucked that poeple who absolutely slayed in turbo - rainville, downey, bibby, thomas - got way less shots in refresh

I own both of these movies and love them. I think I prefer refresh as of now maybe because I just got it, but more likely because the amount of crazy park and urban stuff is int it. I enjoy watching park a little more than bc although the bc in both movies is sick. I feel like in EDIAS sometimes I want to skip certain parts, but in Refresh I watch the whole thing through every time. Plus I prefer the refresh soundtrack.

I own both and think that both were sick. I'm not going to choose a winner though. They're different movies that are better in different aspects IMO. I really liked Refresh as a feel good, get stoked movie. EDIAS had some sick stuff in it though. Dane Tudor killed it and so did Tim Durtschi .

With that said, I just ordered Pretty Good and can't wait to get it.

As sick as refresh was, EDIAS is better all around just because of balance. It has the best balance of different types of skiing ie: martini and walker with stack and ager. It also had a well balanced soundtrack ie: mobb deep and black sabbath

Personally i thought EDIAS was really good but not great. I bought EDIAS and pretty good on itunes and actually liked Pretty good better. I don't know if the fact that i'm from minnesota helped that or not. But if you want the "WHAT THE FUCK" factor just watch Lj's part in Pretty Good. I have yet to see Refresh but I didn't think EDIAS lived up to it's standards.
