I'm not really sure how I feel about this yet.

I need to crop a few more pixels to get rid of the white stripes

I also havent graded much, so that will change too

I liked it and I loved that shot of the guy on the log.

I think it needs a better ending though. Find a clip that feels like and ending and cut to black. You can also have the song end at the end of the video to help it conclude.

Great shots. Really beautiful. I liked them a lot.

I felt that the edit as a whole did not flow. It felt awkward and did not grab my attention. I think those same shots in a different fashion would work better. A reel is for clients to see your work and ecentialy hire you (also i like to think of it as a memory reel for myself). I think if you started of slow like you did and then brought up the tempo and pace it would flow much better.

Theese are my opinions if you like the feel and direction go for it! Great job overall. Really dig your work.

On a side note stuck in steamboat was so sick!!!!

This may seem extreme, but try getting it down under a minute.

Clients aren't going to have time to watch the whole thing (ever) so shorter is better.

I agree with what was already said. Shots looked good which is the most important imo, but nothing really held them together. I also didn't really like the part around 1:13 when it goes to black before another shot. It might not be totally necessary but staying closer to 1:30 or under could be helpful.

overall i liked it. you shoot with a gh2?

I personally cannot stand the wide screen ratio. Seems like it is as lame as throwing lens flare in your videos in post. Seems like it should be artsy but comes of as lame imo. That being said if you feel like you are shooting widescreen for a specific reason I would like to hear it.

Other than that I liked the shots you chose but was in class so cannot comment on the music.

Thanks for all the responses.

I think I may keep working on this and also make a more traditional reel.

cultrara-I completely agree that the last clip doesn't work, ill try to find something more appropriate.

foodisfun- All shot on a gh2(the two shots of the dirtbiker were with a t2i)

Pmoore- It's just the way I shoot. The last 50 or so edits iv'e made have been with a crop. I love the widescreen look. I also shot with crop marks in my camera so I'm not just throwing the crop on in post as an afterthought.
