So, the album just dropped, what do you think?

I like it, a lot. Basically, at first glance all I'm hearing is a B-side collection like Steal This Album from SOAD. It's a long-throw from Frusciante's slash mastery and a bit poppy at times, but still, RHCP is unique, when it comes to Kiedis' amazing voice or Flea's bass slayage (which shines on this album). It'll grow on me soon enough and I can't wait to sing these songs.

My hat's off to Josh to keep up with the rest of the band, way better than Navarro did. I'll be anxiously waiting for the next record, standing in line.

All in all, B-.
 
I think I agree with you. I've only heard a few tracks so I'll probably post a fuller review later. From what I've heard it wasn't stand out chillies, I don't think anything can compare to the Blood Sugar Sex Magic days. But it could be a lot worse, with one of the best bassists of this generation and probably my favourite drummer as your rhythm section, it's hard to go too wrong.

I'm impressed with Josh, being frusciate's "apprentice" kind of helps, but I think he's adding a lot. The one solo I heard was sexy as. Looking forward to hearing the rest of the album, but I doubt I'm going to fall in love with it.
 
I can say that Look Around is amazing and the best song on the album, you'll love it. Also, Monarchy of Roses is one of the better opening tracks in a while, just wait until it really kicks in a a bit under a minute and boy-o, Kansas is goin' bye-bye.
 
you can stream the entire album on itunes and a few other places. overall its a pretty good album id say. not their best by any means (missin j frusc sound and vocals) but still i was pleasantly surprised by how good it is.
 
Definitely. Rain Dance Maggie left me at "Ok, but WTF" but the whole LP is sick. It really is good. It doesn't stand to Stadium Arcadium's almost perfect selection on a double LP, but damn, it has COW BELL!

Chances are the show is sold out (wherever you are), and tickets on resale are going to be very expensive. Definitely would be an amazing show, but I wouldn't pay over 75 or $80 for a ticket.

like theyre just a pump-up band. I dont really love any of their

songs, but they are all really loud and have a certain "build up feel"

Dude Sleigh Bells are so sick! Apparently they're incredible live as well, a lot of noise. Damn I'm jealous, but yeh don't underestimate Sleigh Bells, they'll try and steal the show haha.
 
Never posted in here.. Album was sick, went to see them in Turin on the 10th of December last year, they absolutely killed it. Josh was amazing as well.
