its back... last year's was a bit overhyped in my opinion, but still undeniably sick to watch. Thoughts?

at first i thought this was going to be a new red bull drink...

looks pretty epic, those features are mad. i take it snowboarders only? sucks ;-(

yeah it does. I'd love to see it become a competition with both sides, but as long as T Rice is in charge that won't happen. But, I suppose the skiers have RB Linecatcher.. just not the same vibe

i'd be down to watch a livestream of either... would be entertaining for sure.

That's your opinion. I think the event is gonna be sick regardless of skiing or snowboarding. It would be sick to see skiing and snowboarding compete in the same event, not sure how scoring would work but still.

yea i remember all the hype for super-natural last year, but never saw any footage of it.

also theyre talking about how anyone from any discipline can compete against eachother, sooooooo whynot bring skiing into it and they can all compete against eachother in one epic, unique venue??

Not gonna lie, was stoked on Super Natural last year, but was disappointed when I saw it. For the breadth of the course features, all 16 riders used like 10% of them in their runs. I'm not saying I know how it could be better, I just know it left me unhappy. I'm wondering if the pitch is too steep to really get some cool tricks off the features? Maybe more like a park steepness? I know that takes away from the "naturalness" of it, but most of the riders were past half the features after they hit just one of them. The super high pillow is great, but nobody did any sick handdrags or anything. It was kind of just bop off this, jump off that and you're down. Nothing super steezy or high consequence. I dunno, I'll probably still watch it.

If i'm not mistaken they didn't have any practice runs, and the 2 runs they had were there only times on the course, which would definitely factor in to why they couldn't throw down to their full potential. Obviously allowing practice runs on a course of that nature ruins a bit of the natural aspect, so I don't really have any answers to improve the comp without ruining the integrity of the whole backcountry aspect of it

i agree with making it a little less steep. you can still launch off the features and do sick stuff, but it doesnt send you down half the hill on one hit

I dig the concept of the crossover event and in this case it's very well executed. There is such split in skiing and snowboarding between contest riders and filming riders that it is nice to see the two worlds brought together. I'm stoked to be watching again this year!
