Voting in the final four of Red Bull Bracket Reel is underway and both matches are SUPER TIGHT right now with less than 20 votes separating the teams! My thoughts on each edit below:
LMU
In this round LMU’s amazing cinematography, editing, story, and sound design meet great skiing. What can I say, Hibbs is a kook! I don’t know what he was thinking doing a double backie to the big air dave zone off what looked like a mogul jump, but it was entertaining.
UMass Ski and Board
These kids kill it on rails, such east coasters. The hint at the end of the edit at a Boston urban mission is something I want to see. Strong cinematography too!
USC Ski and Snowboard
Most playful and fun vibe of all the videos. Riding level is good, but the overall message is that skiing is about more than doing doubles, it is about having fun. The Chemtralienz thing is a bit confusing, but maybe they will tie it all together in the final edit.
UW Dawg House
The only team to get out of the park and ski some pow! Also, the backcountry booters are nice, especially with the snowboarder throwing a nasty dub. The colorful Aftereffects touch on a few shots is tasteful and I appreciate the continuity between the first and second edit.
