Recommendations/Help, Lapland Levi

I am currently on exchange for a semester in Lund, Sweden, and just booked a trip for the beginning of December to go ski in the Finnish Lapland at Levi resort. I am stoked beyond words to travel into the arctic circle, but I have a few questions for anyone who has been to this area before or knows anything about it.

First off, what can I expect? I have very little information going into this.

Is there anywhere in the town that I could rent or demo some decent park skis? I brought all of my gear from home with the exception of the skis themselves.

Lastly, in the first week of December what are the chances of spotting the northern lights?

Thanks in advance

what uupp! i'm a levi local, stoked to hear you coming to our resort!

first of all, we are getting a new, bigger park this season, it should be open in december. the new park will have two jump jumpline (two kickers/knuckle) and then a rail line after it. check out @levisouthpark on instagram.

for the skis, there are a few rentals around levi, from the main rental (zero point or south point) you can get atomic and salomon, maybe K2 and nordica too if i remember right.

and for the northern lights, it's pretty common as long as the weather is clear. the best way to see them could be a northern light tour where guides take you to the wilderness to get away from the light pollution.

PM me if you wanna know more, more than happy to help!

Word man! This is pretty much exactly what I was looking for, thanks much for the help. Do they rent like park skis and such from these main rental shops or are they mostly like carvers/groomer skis?

they have race skis, groomer/carver skis, park skis, powder skis, touring skis and telemark skis. i've worked a couple winters in zero point, and cause of the new park, south point is getting a lot of park skis this winter. i think we have mainly atomic infamous and punx and salomon nfx's. i'm currently not at levi but i'll see if i'm there in early december, would love to ski with another NS member!
