Really need help on picking bindings (clueless)

Hey ns, I’m looking for some help with bindings and I’m completely clueless tbh.

I need bindings for Salomon Rocker 2s (They have a 100mm waist) i know skis pretty well but not much about bindings, i am 5”8 and around 110 pounds and need a binding that will work for all mountain powder and park, a due it all type of binding, I’m completely clueless on what brake width I’m going to need to get too, with a 100mm waist will i need a 100mm brake width? Any suggestions and help would be GREATLY appreciated, i am looking to spend 100 - no more than 150$ on them, thanks Newschoolers!

Cheapest I could find with a 110mm brake. You may search around and find a price closer to $120 but the only sets I saw at that price had 85 mm brakes.

Check the buy/sell/trade forum as well?

Hey thanks for replying, so i will need a 110mm brake for a 100 mm waist ski?

You could probably get away with a 95mm brakes and stretch them, but 110mm will probably fit a little easier and I don't think you'll get any overhang. I would say go 110 to be safe, but if you find a really good deal on a pair with 95mm brakes talk to your local shop, or whoever you'll have mount them, and see if they are willing to bend the brakes to fit the ski I know that some shops are more willing than others depending on how comfortable they are with bindings.

So would the ideal size binding just be 100mm brake but you can have it a little bigger or a tiny bit smaller?

Exactly. I think ideally the brakes would be 4-5mm wider than the ski they just don't make that many sizes. If the brakes are too wide they'll catch on stuff particularly your other boot/ski and the snow mid turn.

@Snowbirdkid yeah exactly you can usually go a little bigger on wide side I'd say you're probably safe with either 110 or 95, which are both pretty common brake sizes

agreed on the brake size guidelines (95 bent out is ideal imo but 110 will be fine, that's only 5mm on each side) and on the attacks-- you won't find a better binding in that price range

You can't go wrong with the well-proven Salomon driver bindings. The driver toepiece will never let you down, and the driver heel is so easy to click in when you fall in three feet plus in any kind of powder (light to heavy, and even in Sierra Cement - I know because I've skied them all). You can't say that about the new Markers, but they are a pain to click in any kind of powder. All the guides in Alaska and Canada swear by the Driver bindings, unless they telemark or use Alpine touring bindings. Don't get Salomon's Z bindings, unless you're lightweight and don't go in the park. Another binding to consider is Tyrolia .
