Real ski police encounters

Does anyone know of any real ski athletes getting in trouble with law enforcement while trying to film? Do they just flex that they are x games athletes and tell the feds to buzz off?

I am actually curious about this as well. I always wondered if X-Games could be held liable if something is damaged for doing a contest that sanctions urban skiing. The skiers are literally judged on their ability to ride on public and private property, often with no permission.

dont get any special treatment for being in Xgames, if theyre not down with it, xgames wont change a thing.

ABM's closer in 2019 shows him getting kicked off right as hes getting his shot, + you see at the end hes getting a ticket

I remember two years ago, ABM told an interview about how he was hitting some gnarly overpass for his realski edit and a cop said he would make a loop, come back, and if he was still there, he would be kicked out. Well ABM saw the cop coming back so be sprinted up the stairs, had his buddies get the shot ready asap, and he finally laced the sketchy multi kinked handrail right as the cop showed up.

Edit: It's the closing shot, at 1:25

skiboss mentioned an interesting point on that BombHole episode about filming street in cities like Minneapolis for instance and how cops roll-up, see whats going on, and are just like "yall have fun and stay safe" and go get dispatched elsewhere because they're dealing with real shit like shootings and actual crimes, and how thats not the case in like a smaller town or ski town because cops are bored and will kick you out just cuz. Probably not the case all the time but it was interesting nonetheless.

There was an interview with Alex Martini as well. He said people would call the cops saying someone is breaking in with a ski mask. The cops would show up super on edge then actually be relieved when its just some kids skiing.

Especially in Utah, Mormons are surprisingly down on these kind of things. As long as there are no drugs or alcohol involved Mormons are generally cool with sketchy stuff. I remember when I first moved there this guy at my company was showing photos of him and his buddies "fishing" with a 9mm handgun lol

ABM is such a fucking tank and I love this edit

I used to live nearby. That was when the Laurentien ends in the downtown Quebec begins. Theres a police station 2 blocks away

lolwut ''the laurentien ends in the downtown quebec begins'' not sure what you mean but either way, not close. It's in terrebonne, a suburb north of montreal

My bad. It looked so close to the bridge over the highway 73 near Parc Victoria in Limoilou, Quebec City. There is a police station there too.

Ever wonder why people film street clips at night?

Does anyone still hit street at night? Feel like 90% of clips since stept stopped making movies have been daytime.

Very accurate, if you're street skating/skiing in the metropolitan area or over in frog town cops will literally not even bother. I had had a security guard call the cops on my buddies and I when we were skating a ledge downtown and by the time we left no cop had even shown up. I could actually count on one hand how many times I've been kicked out of a spot in MN after all the years I spent skiing and skating there while growing up.

Imagine trying to explain the concept of real ski to a 55 year old cop who probably hasn't even heard of x games lol
