I don't get frustrated with religion, I only get upset when people say such horrible things about animals. I don't know, it really offends me for some reason. I find it very arrogant to think of the notion that humans are somehow superior to other life, when clearly (polution, war, crime, dishonesty, hatred, stupidity, country music) we are not. And yes, animals do fight, have territorial disputes just like humans, do steal, etc. But we take it just way too far.

Personally I find "faith" empty, although I highly respect it in others. I am willing to say that I probably have more love for others, and love and appreciate life more than anyone. I don't think life and the world are in any way a gift, I just think its really fucking cool so don't take it for granted.
 
RasT, I think youve said a lot of good things. If you believe in it, more power to you! Excluding the ethiopia stuff i agree with a lot that you say. It sounds KIND of like what i believe in as a christian. I also agree that our world has turned into a world based solely on "scientific proof." Science is the god of our culture. So many people require proof to believe in something that's unseen. I don't think its necessary to have scientific proof to explain the unexplainable. Just because it cant be proven by science, doesn't mean God doesn't exist.

Haha and sean i didn't know you has so much love for animals!

I don't believe there is a god. Therefore I cannot believe that any of these people you mention are anymore important than you or I.

I don't believe there is a "holy" land, Israel, ethiopia, jerusalem, might as well be fucking Antarctica, because there's no difference in my eyes.

I also don't believe anybody should govern by birthright. Kings are bullshit
 
I've NEARLY crashed my car twice in the past week avoiding squirrels. So yes, I have an ENORMOUS love for animals.

To quote Douglas Adams from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy:

haha oh sean, thats too funny...it was horrible, i watched a crow die in the middle of Taco Bell's drive thru, it ruined my day to say the least.

...anyway..im definitely not going to get into a debate about this, my opinion up there is just that, my OPINION. Its a complete matter of faith. All i'm saying is that I think it's unfortunate that in todays culture, we believe that we are so intelligent, that straight faith in something that isn't seen or proven is considered ridiculous.
 
I wouldn't go as far as saying its rediculous, to me just seems illogical.

But back to animals, me and Kevin were just talking about this. I can't even go fishing because it makes me cry.
 
I wouldn't say that faith in a god is ridiculous. But to choke down and swallow the whole load of crap that is the bible or any other organized religion and live your life how the tell you, is absolutely ridiculous.
 
I'm sure many of the things in the bible did happen, they just didn't mean anything. Its like an almanac, right? Just a listing of things that happened. People just read into it.

And Not to act in evil which is to say selfishness, not judge without partiality, but only let the fullness which is God; let God judge the people. I only make these teachings open to you because I in I belief is truly, and really only commpassion for my brethren and sistren. God is not evil, and if you follow the law of God everything is righteous. Look around, watch the TV & news , or read the paper, these are such negative vibrations, dont belive everything you see, things can be very deciveing. I in I know that there is a Revolution blazing over the wicked mans head, while he search for power to gain the world, there is a righteous vibe coming from the righteous ,the true Souljahs of JAH!
 
Anyone can say that God is evil, anyone. But that isnt going to stop the Emporer. God is not evil, God is all that is good, and if men follwed the ways of God everything would be righteous. All religeons and bibles are a just verssions of the truth, a vission of what happend, is happening, and will happen. Dont let them distract you. Like i said in my "Give Thanks" Thread, you cannot be looking outside yourself, or you will come to feel beside yourself, and only you can go inside yourself to uprise yourself, keep walking in his light and shining it bright, then the father will heal the Blight that withers away your life.
 
Rastafarian faith originated in Jamaica and has its roots in Africa. But it doesn't mean that Rasta is only for black people. Rastafari is for all humanity, all people who accept it.

Rasta is goodness and love, how could it be reserved to only some people?

HIM Haile Selassie said that africans will fight "until the color of the skin has no more significance than the colors of the eyes". HIM said also that "until the philosophy which holds one race superior and another inferior is finally and permanently discredited and abandoned...there will be war". So racism has no place in Rastafarian faith.

All humanity, black, white, whatever colors come from Africa. So how could man divide something that Jah has not divided, that Jah made to His own image, with one unique blood?
 
the use of Ganja is part of I and I, but it is not an obligation. You shall not use the Holy Herb to follow and in all case you must use it with respect and consciousness, not to be "stoned".

except that mass and energy as a total are always conserved, they can be converted between the two, but no mass or energy or "stuff" shall we say can EVER be created or destroyed. and the universe is actually slowing its expansion

well, it's an adventure book based upon the basic principles of the CERN paritcle collider. actually, it highlight's everything that it does. but it ties into it's relevance to the modern religious world. so basically, it's truthful sbout it'd capabilities.
 
so is it like a churchy book saying that anything that comes out of the collider is all nonsense put out by jesus to confuse and trick the non-faithful?
 
Yes, I do realize thats very hypocritical of me. But then again...... I just don't eat.

Whats sad is, logically, if you're going to eat meat, you should hunt it yourself. Yet I could NEVER kill an animal, yet I eat food from animals that were treated SOOO inhumanely.

but when it really comes down to it, I eat very little meat.
 
didn't you just have steak today?! :p im the same way and sometimes it makes me sad. but its better than shooting a deer behind a starbucks!
