Listen up, i'm making up a list of all the major comps that are going down in the midwest this year. What i am looking for is Dates and locations, What kind of prizes (cash, how much), what the comps consist of ( sloestyle, halfpipe, big air, rail jam) , also what are the entry fees and price of a lift ticket. ALL OF THIS INFORMATION WILL BEPOSTED ON NEWSCHOOLERS AND ON MIDWESTSKIER.COM so please contribute to the midwest skiing movement, Everyone needs to know when all the big comps are.

I ride at marquette mountain, in the upper penninsula of michigan, we have a really sick park with large smooth jumps and a good variety of rails, all new this year, plus a few classics.

We will be hosting three FREESTYLE SKIING CAMPS, that the crew and I began last ski season, we have a very strong skiing posse that helps design, build, and maintain the entire park.

there will also be the MIDWEST EXTREMES competition, went off huge last season, we had some excelent competition and some insane terrain to ride on. There will also be a SPRING JAM NEW THIS SEASON. THIS WILL BE HELD AFTER MOST MOST OTHER MAJOR COMPS, IN APRIL. there will also be a special INVITE ONLY bracket added on to this event. we will personnaly invite the top three competitors from some of the major midwest comps. THIS INFO WILL BE GATHERED ON THIS POST. along with some comps like the midwest skier open, the midwest extremes, spring jam at boyne, hootenany.

the comps that can qualify you for an invite will be chosen at our descretion and will be decided upon before the competiotions take place, this will be post on newschoolers and on midwestskier.

But i need everyones help to put this list together as soon as possible.

Thanks for your help,

Steve Shelby

michigan militia ski posse!

go to doogmag.com and they have a list of the huck fin copms but its part of the usasa kind of sucks. also i think crystal has some on there site

Crystal is having two this year and apparantly a 'Freeride Skier and Snowboarder Camp' but im not sure what that is all about. I posted the dates in the site discussion part of midwest skier before it went down.

last year there was so post be like $10,000 in prizes from salomon and it turned out being red bull most of the time which was being given away most of the time. i am sure there is something but last year they raffled off the good stuff. over all doog the guy who runs it is real shady and the whole thing is shady.

yeah, I wouldnt recomend driving real far for the doog comps, there is a 1% chance of them being worth it. As for the crystal comps, last year they were kind of dissapointing. Skiers pretty much get shafted when it comes to the prizes. If you live within an a couple hours of crystal, you should go, because without more skier support they are never gonna get better. The Boarding for Breat Cancer Slopestyle is pretty good, Winners for the skiers got an Unlimited season pass to Crystal (can be sold for an easy $200-$250) Oakley Wisdoms and some other shit. They claim that the comps are gonna be better and the prizes unbiased. These comps are worth putting on the clendar, so people will know about them, but they arent really the 'major' types of comps your looking for.

looks like the only MAJOR COMPS in the midwest are the midwest skier open, the midwest extremes, spring jam at boyne, hootenany, End of season comp at tyrol is always a big one. and what ever the FP boys have going on down south should be big.

sounds like your planning on winning every even this year... if your worried about the prizes go win the US Open and make a few thousand

I beleve Shelby and other's from the michigan militia ski posse! will be at the open. I will be there can't fucking wait. to see that shit.

weiler,

actually i am making a calender for this season, and i don't like to travel, spend money a hotel to win a pair of goggles that i already have. All i am asking for is some info if anyone has some

I'll have all the dates for the contests that are goin' down at Perfect North Slopes and Mad River and Boston Mills-Brandywine and Paoli Peaks. for the series down there. The prizes for that set of contests should be huge so i'll keep you posted. i'll also try to get some info for Snowtrails but apparently they aren't doin' the Series so i'll see what i can find out. Also i have some Dates for some stuff that i have found so far, not much and i guess the MSO date that i have will probably be wrong now but the rest should be good, but go to the FP32 website and then click on the Schedule and it has some stuff on it. I hope to have a pretty intensive list on there by the time the season rolls around. So if anybody has any info throw an email my way from that site.

All right here we go....

17th of Jan. Perfects will hold their first ever Rail Jam contest. That is a Saturday.

18th of Jan. will be a Skier-X

7th of Feb. will be a huge huge night time big air contest that will start off this seasons points series for the 3 aforementioned resorts, of Perfect North Slopes, Mad River, and the finals will be held at Paoli Peaks. This event will no doubt be off the hook, with Several live bands that will be playing on the snow, some top name sponsors, including the major ones of Red Bull and DC Shoes, and perhaps Rossi will be handing out boards and other paraphernalia. All the details are still being worked out and there will be a website dedicated to the series of events so look for that soon. Other possibilities could include, a light show to accompany the big air event and perhaps a D.J. to spin while the competitors are jumping, as well as an instant replay big screen that will allow judges to watch each competitors jump again with slow motion and the crowd to see just what happened. This will undoubtedly be the Premier event at Perfect North Slopes. We had a pretty great crowd last season and the weather def. was not on our side so this year you can expect an even greater result.

Sorry so long but i'll keep you as up to date as i am.

Later,

Tad
