hyland might be the place to go this year they got the rainbow duble barelled and mellowed out and somone said there'll be an s rail and the big mail box. aso the grooming shoud be better.

Yeh Hylands good but make sure u check out Wild mountain this year theres a new terrain park and half pipe and its always well groomed plus they got a pipe magician.

I always hear Hyland is the best, but I've never been there. I go to Trollhaugen a lot - they had a nice 60/50 foot table last year and a bunch of other jumps and rails.

the only problem i hear at hyland is the tow rope. doesnt i shred gloves like a dish disposal? and last year wild mountain didnt even have a park, just a pipe with a jump at the end. (if i remember)

afton sucks... i dont think hey even have FREESTYLE in there vocab, last year there biggest hit was like 7-10 ft. Troll's pretty solid year round.

i ride giants ridge, we have an awesome park and pretty many twin tip riders. 6 or 7 rails, a half pipe, last year we had a bus gap, 4 tables anywhere from 20ft-80ft and tons more. its about an hour or so north of duluth.

I might hafta check out spirit and wild this year, cause wild redid the whole park and pipe, and spirits park is supposedly 3 times longer than before. Hyland does have a rope (super high speed rope) that can let you do a lap in under a minute on a good day. The rope will tear your gloves if you dont have glove guards, so get some before going. Its fine if you come down at speed then carve back up right onto the rope because you go as fast as the rope and it doesnt tear up gloves because you just grab it at that point and hold on. Giant's bus was fuckin awesome, but the landing was about a foot wide at the top. Hopefully it will be a tad nicer this year, but still the biggest and best park in MN. Hyland is my favorite metro-area place even though its small because they still have plenty of stuff to play around with.

most ski shops around town sell them and they try to keep a supply at hyland in that shop deal they have.

I just got back from giants ridge its was very nice. there park was very nice they had the two size jump in one and i liked those alot bertter than what we get at highland. also there pipe is the best ive riden although that may not be saying much seeing as i havent riden very many pipes but it also had lots of difficult terrain so tht was a nice change.

yea i still gotta make it out to hyland! i was at spirit a while ago and i had a funny ass wipe out. i smashed my chin on the crappy icy snow, and i had a big scab on it. it looked like a soul patch. im amazed at how much i suck.

yea I still wana check out giants ridge because it looks like they really got something going on up there. I'll have to see when I have a free weekend

I like how Mt Kato has like 2 1/2 jumps (the one at the top is only 1/2 because it has no landing)

haha, someday I'll make a ski area and have like 5.389358 jumps just to mess with people, because we'll really have like 10 but just say that to be funny, and have two halfpipes but then advertise it as a whole pipe, cause .5+.5=1 and that would be sweet.

i ski spirit and i see lots of twins there, they have some real nice hits there and the second half pipe is opening soon!

I ski at Powder Ridge, Buck Hill, and sometimes Spirit Mountain. If you see a kid with a yellow coat green helmet, doing big trix and whiping out, and his name is Erik, then that's me.

i havnt been to afton all year its wierd normally its like my home. i ride silver 1080s. dude spirit is crazy all these kids are commin out throwin like bio7's and 900's off of the middle kicker and im like doin 180's and bailing. goddamnit. i cant grind either.

I ski at Buck a ton. They've got some real nice kickers, and a pretty big tabletop at the end...saw a snowboarder pull a misty off it once. I dont see many good freeskiiers round 'here tho...

I suck.

Yeah I went to spirit this sprong and I learned misties, it's a great place to learn that stuff because everyone rocks, so you want to be as good as them.

the one at the top is supposed to be a hip, i think or at least that's what they tell us. oh, and now we have 2 'rails' which are 2 boxes with a rail on each side so your sliding it in front of and behind your binding.

10% equipment

90% balls

They were before, now you gota pay $130 for the first year... not bad.

I ski Powder Ridge unfortunatly. It's rather small and crapy but hey, anywhere you can ski on some type of snow right?

If you don't like the two paths in front of you, take the third!

I ski Giants Ridge. THeir are quiet a few twin tips... good park... good location... and the Slush Bowl!!! Check it out. Also theres a kid their...i think his names Mikey...anyway i hear he's frickin' nuts

Your the champion of my bleeding heard

the passes at spirit are cheap for your first year, then expensive for every other year, i think they should like have it get less expensive for every year you get one cuz then i'd be getting mine for cheap

The end

Im telling you guy check Wild Mountain out this year they put a tow rope in their park and I know the hed guy of the park and im helping him build some sick rails! By the way the head guy is a freeskier so the park is more freeskier orentaited!

Wild is the place to be this year. I know the guy who is charge of the park and they are supposed to be putting in a huge system with speakers thoughout the park. I try and ride at Afton, but they kill you on the landings and lack of jumps to hit. But it's only 5 minutes away and there is something to be said for that. Anyone going to do any rail sessions in the cities?

I went to troll last year and it was terrible...their jumps were very small and the one decent one they had was sketch ball because the landing was literally four feet long. Maybe I just went too late in the season. Their rails were decent...bad fun box.

mount kato claims they are gonna have 3 parks this year with some good rails (rainbow, couple of diff. kinks, ect). two parks are supposed to be beginner with little hits and the main one will have the same hip as always and then 2 tables. what really sucks is they havent even made an effort of blowing any snow there even though it's cold enough and the snow guns are even positioned there but they just wont turn them on. bitches.

i went to afton today. the park was like a kiddie park. pretty pathetic considering all the snow they had there and all the snow they were making.

I agree afton is gay as shit. their rails are like a foot of the ground and stupid. Not worth the trouble of riding the lift up the hill. Hyland is almost always a safe bet for park monkeys like myself. I also ski lutsen, spirit, coffee, Lacrose, welch and tyrol.

mmmmmm snow goood

i did go to hyland today. i was surprised how much terrain they actually had. the place was full of park rats though. i almost wasted one when he came skiing across the landing of a jump.

I'm at Spirit... cold as fuck today, -24 without windchill

green DNA jacket and Fujatives, more than likely wearing headphones

Spirit's park is prime this year, they've got it almost 100% up, all the tables and most of the rails, they just put up the big rainbow yesterday

Any other Spirit skiers shoot me an email, pete2358 at d dot umn dot edu, I got a house and I'm 100 feet from a liquor store, plus I got a nice TV... we should watch some ski flicks and drink some beers some day

'why?'

spirit is the best, highlands is to small

spirit has tons of rails, s rail, two flat sown flats

come hit up welch, they've improved so far so much shit out there dragon tail rail, 20' fun box 15' flat rail, i dont know what will be up now they took eveyrthing out to make snow on it so we will see what comes up now but really come to welch if you are ever down here
