they aren't very good for all all around skiing. they are definatly a more park oriented ski. plus the quality of k2's skis has gone way down since they moved production to china. line's pro models and the volkl karmas are best for all around skiing and plenty of park ability, in my opinion.

since you didn't search the forums, and I don't want asac's opinion to be the only one...I have the 04 179s and they kick ass everywhere! I hardly ever, ever, ever go in the park and these skis handle all. I mainly rip the trees, groomers, steeps, whatever and these skis ask for more. Stable at speeds, tough as a brick shit-house, and look pretty sick to boot

I've been on the publics for the last few years and they're fine for everything. Even flex means solid landings and good snap from turn to turn. Equipment is 10%. The rest is all in the skier.

I have the 04's i cans say they are really stable and you can beat the shit out of them

Hopefully I will be skiing the Big K in VT until January, and the other K in CA for the rest of the season.

there awsome as long as you dont get them mounted at midsole , then there too far back and not enough tail.

'i just rented good will hunting , how is it?'

'lets put it this way, even matt damon cant make it suck.'

'matt damon? hes in con air right?'

'yes , yes he is.'

'they aren't very good for all all around skiing. they are definatly a more park oriented ski.'

They are a decendant of the Explorer and old Enemy, both of which are legitimate all-mountain skis. Park specific need not apply. I can't even believe such an ignorant post.

'plus the quality of k2's skis has gone way down since they moved production to china. line's pro models and the volkl karmas are best for all around skiing and plenty of park ability, in my opinion.'

Glad you finished that on with 'my opinion' as the quality of ski as increased dramitically since production moved. The PE reigns supreme in torsional rigidity in comparison's to LINES, so again, I do not trust your opinion. LINE skis have a nice even flex to them, but in my experiences on them, the PE is definately a more well rounded set of skis. This is my opinion, try them both out and see what works for you. You won't be disapointed.

Im loving my new Pe's. Im not a huge park freak. I just hang out there when the snow or conditions are shit. I would rather be hittin the rest of the mountain. They are very stable skis and carve like mofos. They are pretty good in powder and such.

I to have new 179 PE's and they are great every where, I ski all terain and they work great every where.

powderdayz: he probably got twin tips so he can ride switch, but thats just a guess. Just because you have twins does not mean your a park person.

Powderdayz...I bought PEs because

1. K2 kicks ass

2. Just because I don't ski in the park doesn't mean I don't utilize the twin tip on the rest of the mtn. Kids need to get out of the park sometimes and realize you have still throw tricks and have fun all over the mtn.

Alright sounds good to me !..just checkin out reveiws from real life skiers that know what the skis provides from first hand experience.. yeah this post has probably been posted already..but i didn't have the time to search for it.

guaranteed you could search 'public enemy' in 4.39242 seconds or less with that handy dandy search at the top of NS page.

i have the 179 and i like em pretty much. they are a really good pair of skis but a bit heavy in my opinion. plus i have to remount them.

i dont know do you think its still possible to ski them in powder without problems if the bindings are like 2 or 3 cm back from the center?

Trust me, you will love them. I ski everywhere...park, groomers, powder, glades, and whatever else and I can say they never let me down. I was skeptical at first on how they would turn on hardpack because of the width. But don't worry they turn very well. I hope this helps u man. Maybe you should wait for the 05/06 to come out. I hear they are going to be really sick looking!

Yeah..i just might do that..but i wanna get a pair this year so..i just can't wait...thanx a lot everyone..

yea man, if you're looking for a ski that can handle everything, the PE is one the best skis out there for you. i ride about 60% park and 40% all-mtn and i've had no problems whatsoever in any place on the mountain. take my advice and pick some up right now
