Just bought a pair of Rossignol S4 Jibs, mounted once at center for Rossignol FKS 18.

Im gunna throw my rossignol FKS 14 on in the same holes when they arrive. Just wondering how i can re-mount them in the same holes. I have heard to use a type of glue first just wondering what kind.

Thanks.

You want to use wood glue to help seal the holes from water which could damage your cores with freeze/thaw effects over time.

depends on the state of the holes realy, i'm quite sure it'll be ok with just wood glue, but if you want a bombproof setup, go to a shop and get the holes helicoiled ....

so if i take my skis to my woodshop, fil the holes with glue and screw em in ill be fine??

I might have to remount my heel peice, and if i do ill just take em to a shop.

if the holes are clean and all i think you'll be fine with just woodglue to seal out moisture ...but it really depends, if its the first time the binding is screwed out you're probably fine, if you'd do it 10 times you wont be fine, if you're not sure about it go and have your shop take a look at it ....

Wood glue is water soluable and cure as is dries, therfore using woodglue actually introduces moisture to the wood core. Normmally bonding with wood glue is okay, however with topsheets and sidewalls there is little area for the moisure to evacuate. Furthermore it will degrades when it is wet and it will be permiable to moisture. Use a five minute epoxy when remounting your bindings it will last even longer and is not water soluable. Back in the day some people claimed that the epoxy melted foam cores but this has been disproven, and even moot because most performances skis nowadays have woodcores. Epoxy my friend...way more effective than wood glues.

Helicoil or an insert (such as Quiver Killers). If you mount straight to wood again, it will require epoxy and may still rip out as the hole has been loosened by the screw removal process.

Do it right once and save yourself the time and money of another remount/repair.
