Re-Entering the Ski World and Looking to Buy Skis

I used to own the Armada AR6 (2010 - 171cm) and I loved them. They just don't seem to make them like this anymore. Full sidewall, Full Camber, 80mm-90mm wide, Stringers, lightweight, >20m Radius. They were a perfect east coast park ski and a perfect carving ski. Super light and responsive. you could charge them and play around with them.

Everything seems relatively washy now with preference to wideness, short radius, low flex, and rockers. It's like everyone has/sells the alpha series from way back.

I am looking for the modern version of the AR6 2010. Does that exist anymore? I want a big jump jumping ski that can fit in this slot in my quiver.

From what I have seen I am considering (I don't know much about them):

ARV 86

Revolt 87

Faction CT 1.0

Faction Prodigy 1.0

Surface Auburn

TW Pro

Thank you!

Ski technology has come lightyears since 2010. The reason full camber 2x4 skis don't exist to a large degree in this segment, is because companies have figured out how to make stable, fun, and playful skis that still hold edge and use the rocker profile to engage the whole edge of the ski when you lay into it. Something like the ON3P Magnus 90 would be a good example of that. Quick edge to edge, stiff enough to hit things at high speed but also it has a bit of flex to it. Good rocker profile but when you lean it over, the whole thing engages and you can charge with it.

I had a pair of 4frnt stls from 2009 for a while. I’m currently on the revolt 87 and would say that they match your description pretty well and feel more or less the same as the stl, but a bit stiffer.

The CT 1.0 is my favorite ski ever, it’s super balanced in the air and super supportive on landings. I can still play around and flex them if I really throw my weight around but they’re solid as shit. The Prodigy 1.0 has also emerged as a really good jump ski, it’s more damp than the Candide and a little heavier so it’s even more solid. The CT 1.0 is the closest to what you’re looking for, for sure! It’s awesome, highly recommend

I had a customer with exactly the same feelings as this with his ar6s and never felt more happy to reccomend our Alparka to him. It’s our whole park/hard pack ski. 85mm underfoot at 170cm & 18m. little nose & tail rocker meaning your effective edge would be near that of a full camber 171 (armada measure their skis flat making them more like a real 168/9cm)

full ash core with carbon ribbons full length for extra pop, energy and stability at speed but enough flex in the tips & tails for ease of turn at slower speed. Full sidewall construction. an extra thick race base paired with 2.2x2.5mm edges. Weighing in at only 1.7kg a ski. Making them a modern day equivalent to the ar6 with similar flex, weight, turn radius, width and durable bases & edges.Check out more about them here:

www.faunaskis.com/product/alparkawe ship internationally for free and you won’t have to pay VAT so they would be ~$440

if you’re looking to get bindings with them drop me a message here or on insta and I can put a package together.
