Ravens Vs. Steelers

ehhhhh, i have nothing against the steelers, but i fucking hate seeing the same goddamn teams do well all the time. theyve already won twice this past decade, lets spread the love a little. gets so boring when youre just reliving the same AFC championship every year, i guess unless you're from either new england or pitt.

Do you understand the nature of competition? We should probably penalize teams for doing well, huh? How about other teams getting their shit together and winning? You do realize how draft rankings work, don't you? That is as much leveling as the NFL needs. Anything more would make it a complete sham.

No, the ravens did. Joe Flacco was awful. Tj blew it, my 10 year old cousin could have caught that. Ray Rice blew it, turnovers blew it. Don't blame the refs for the loss, the ravens had ample time to win that game.

youre a living contradiction

"we should probably penalize teams for doing well, huh?" /sarcasm, implying that the ones who perform well should be rewarded

"You do realize how draft rankings work, don't you?" suggesting that I would be an idiot to not know that the WORST team gets the number one pick, thereby completely contradicting the statement you made about "lol penalizing the good teams". what happened to your statement about the rich getting richer?

the same teams doing well every season really only appeals to the fans of those teams, and from a marketing standpoint, that is not good. business 101: you want the largest consumer base possible. you dont want to cator to a very small population. while i can acknowledge that steelers and pats fans are stoked on their respective success in the past (well lets just look more recent history) decade, im standing by my point when i say it's fucking boring to see the same shit every fucking year. good for them for being awesome teams, but it doesn't make the game very exciting when you see shit like the lakers / celtics / spurs being the best team every year, the yankies buying whoever the fuck they want because of their ridiculous payroll (except for cliff lee, props for not selling out), lebron, bosh, and wade all going to the same team, which doesnt help expand the smaller market cities, and shit of that nature. it's bad for sports. shit, even in nascar jimmie johnson has won the whatever the fuck it's called leaderboard thing for the past 5 years now. who the hell wants to watch shit when you already know what the outcome is going to be. lets just start bypassing the regular season, draw a random "underdog" team out of a hat to throw into a playoff spot, and just play the playoffs right from the get-go

I'm a huge Ravens fan and they fucking blew this one. Joe Flacco, you sucked. Ray Lewis, you did nothing. T.J. Houshmanzadeh or however the fuck you spell your last name, you have to be able to catch that fucking ball retard. And the refs, how the fuck can you call that holding, he pushed the guy onto the fucking ground while running forward, you must be fucking blind (talking about the Ravens punt return TD that was called back). And also Ravens defense, how the fuck can you not stop them on 3rd and 19, especially on that long ass pass, all you had to do was put a couple safeties really far back. Jesus fucking christ, fuck the Steelers.

Are you aware that the NFL is having it's best year to date? More people are watching football than ever. Sure, there are issues with the CBA deal but the league is still successful. Also, teams like the patriots and the saints have growing fanbases around the country, and superbowl viewing has increased every year commensurate with increasing reg season viewing. If people didn't like watching the same teams ever year, they wouldn't watch the superbowl and superbowl commercials would not cost 3 million dollars for a 30 second segment. The NFL is a cash cow and organizations like the pats and steelers reign in fans all over the world. It's not a rich keep getting richer/ better either. Hell, the cowboys are the wealthiest organization out there, they have studs, but they suck year in and year out. The patriots are successful not because they spend boatloads of cash, they have a genius head coach with an incredible staff who knows how to find the hidden gems (ie Tom Brady, a 199th pick in the 6th round.)

I love all the ravens fans blaming refs, typical. The ravens had a 21-7 lead and blew it., not the refs. Btw, Big Ben is officially back.

I agree, but minus Worthlessburger... He was terrible for most of that game. Zero pocket awareness. Rothlesburger...you won't be able to refuse this meat.

i will also leave this here.

In other news the Green and Yellow is kicking ass. Go Clay Matthews fumble recovery!

And who are the AFC teams playing tomorrow?

Seriously, did you not see that holding call that called back our punt return touchdown and put us 30 yards back away from the touchdown? Are you fucking blind? That was a game-changing call. Nobody knows what would've happened if they hadn't made that terrible call. Other than that though, yeah, the Ravens blew it. Joe Flacco was retardedly bad.

lol Ravens fans...whose been blamed for the lose already just in this thread

Flacco

TJ

Rice

Refs

hahaha keep em coming boys

I don't know what game you were watching but that was holding. The kid clearly had a hold of the guy's jersey and when the guy fell, he fell with him. If he hadn't had a hold of his jersey, he woulda kept running.

Well actually, now that I watch it again it was holding. But to the guy who posted above this, who else is there to blame other than Flacco who played so stupidly. He got sacked like 4 times where he easily could've thrown the ball at Rice's feet. Housh who couldn't catch that perfect fucking pass with a minute left. And the Ravens pass defense who let the Steelers convert on 3rd and 19.

And then there was that one play where he dodged like two people and just ran out of bounds like 8 yards back rather than just throwing it down the field. And he threw it to Heap double coverage deep, maybe if it was Boldin or Mason but Heap, seriously? Either way, the Ravens just blew their last chance at a superbowl, their defence is really old and their offensive receivers are pretty old too. Their offense can improve but their defense will only go down with Ed Reed and Ray Lewis' career coming to an end.
