Randonee Help

Recently me and my three good friends planned a 3 and 1/2 week trip to Beirut, Lebanon and I decided to save my money for that trip rather than buy a ski pass this season.

I spent most of last season at Brighton skiing in the out of bounds area (hiking or building jumps) but seeing as I don't have a pass I'm going to be hiking full time this season. I have no experience in randonee equipment and before I started picking it out and spending money I wanted to see if you guys had any insight.

I already have a pair of skis: Surface new lifes (151-122-151) but I need skins and bindings still. For bindings I'm looking at Marker Dukes (cannot afford randonee boots).

Any help?

I recommend hitting the gym and focusing on your legs because that setup is going to be a bitch on the ups.

your skis = huge and heavy

bindings = heavy

non AT boots = definitely heavy

While your setup will certainly work, you will have probably 13ish pounds on each foot. Every stride... 13ish pounds.

If you are going that route, just get a boot that fits well. Not much you can do unless you're willing to shell out the cash for lighter bindings, boots, and skis.

oh that's an inconvenience but I'm not worried at all. I have always been active (gym/sports) and hiked a TON while at resorts. I might have to take some more breaks but that's no biggie.
