Its political season again, yayy! ha, its kinda fun.

Anyways, Ron Pauls son is running for US Senate in Kentucky and doing a bang up job right now and he might end up on the Senate which I would love to see.

I just want to hear what NS thinks.

If anyone hear is from Kentucky, you should consider voting for him on Nov 2nd I think. Kind of a ways from now though.

I know I want to see him in there. We need people with good/intelligent heads on their shoulders. Not with lawyers/lobbyists whispering in their ears.

Remember to register to vote if you are from KY too. I think you might have to register as Republican to vote for him, not sure,

Check his website

Is that the only thing you care about?

You can't blame the guy for being straight up about what he believes. He is an eye surgeon you know? He has worked in the med field.

oh wow, he's an eye surgeon! well gosh darn it, he gets my vote! def. the most qualified for a senator spot.

I fail to see what work as an eye surgeon gives one insight on intensely ethical and moral questions, or for that matter how anyone can be 100% on such a controversial issue that deals with such large grey areas. But whatever.

If he's really for getting rid of the corporate lobby scheme running the capitol, I'll support that, but his far right leaning views just dont mesh with me.

the thing with ron paul is that he lives in a fantasy world. he thinks that major change can happen in an instant. he seems to have no clue that there is a checks and balance system. hell look at obama, its taking him quite a while to get rid of something as (seemingly simple) as DADT. and yeah his whole black and white views on issues would certainly fuck stuff up in any sort of position that gave him political power. the guy is a kook and deserves no place in our government.

Good thing its not up to you.

skiierman, can you answer a question truthfully for me? Are you jewish? Dont lie either cause then you hold no credibility.

Rofl you guys don't think being an eye surgeon is a respectable job? Alot of politicians are in elite fields. i.e. lawyers and doctors/army/navy whatever. So you guys would rather have some one that has been in politics his whole life rather than someone who has experienced many other aspects of life in the senate?

what's the difference between 100% pro life and 95% pro life? I am in no way trying to make an argument for or against ron paul i just dont understand what you meant.

i watched him go toe to toe with Rachel Maddow.

that was great.

"it depends on who you think owns the business" priceless. (Rand Paul on the freedom of association the constitution affords private enterprises)

you mean how he wants to stop recklessly blowing up the national debt? what do you suggest we do rowen, should we increase the national debt as much as we can?

uh actually i'm irish american you dumb ass, racist piece of shit. i'm a republican that's ashamed to be categorized with fucks like you. you're like the tree-hugging, liberal douche bags on the democrate side. we all fucking hate you for giving our party- and even america, such a pathetic representation to the rest of the world. accept it you cock-sucking, black hating stupid fucking retarded assholes.

Give up on politics already. The government has been restructured for backward motion and will fail soon. We'll be bankrupt by 2015, riots will start, and it'll all go to hell. And when I hop the Alaska-Canada border and settle in the Yukon, fishing and trapping in Ni'iinlii Nijik. With a four wheeler, a few rods, 50 Conibear 330's, a sod shack and a woodstove. I'll be flipping you the bird from the top of the world as you dine on MRE's and political hell!

Who is this "we" you speak of? Honestly, I want to know who you gather with to spread the great republican knowledge that you seem to be the master of. Are you politically active or just an internet warrior? rofl, wow !!! I must have hit a nerve!

"we" as in the civilized world where everyone is equal and no one is full of hate and stupidity as yourself. just lynch yourselves.

Wait Rowan, you dont want him in office?

Guess who lives in Kentucky, guess whos old enough to vote, guess who just their easiest vote yet?

wait i'm democrat and not a big fan of him too.... please don't assume all democrats are on the same page.... just how i don't assume every republican is a rich white family

i think your reading comprehension checked?

Rand is more a small r republican, and free market libertarian than he is establishment Republican. I like these things.

you thought that was toe to toe?

yikes. there were plenty of libertarians who said that he dropped the ball and failed to provide a 'standard' libertarian response. He simply didn't answer anything that night.

If you can find one person that believes in everything you do, please give me their phone number or email or something. I am involved with local political people in my area/town. I speak to them regularly to debate people running for office or agendas or just to shoot the shit. Thats what being involved in politics is about. not just one person sitting on his keyboard telling people to kill themselves if they don't agree with you.

So just because you sit on the internet and preach your idiotic ways doesn't mean anyone else feels the same as you. Sorry, those bunch of transients you hang out with don't count.

"Just lynch yourselves" ........really? Nice work. How many times a day do you get your ass kicked?

This is the problem I have with (I assume liberal correct me if I am wrong) liberal people... especially on this site. They always call everyone that disagree with them as idiotic or stupid without willing to look at both side.

If you look at the majority of posters that get involved in political threads here the ones that don't drop idiot right away are usually the older members.

First you are an idiot. The checks and balances are obviously not working. It's not as much about getting change instantly as it is doing something now instead of continuing down the path we're on. If you think that continuing on our spending spree, printing out trillions of dollars, is good for our country, you live in a fantasy world.

Honk if you like shitstorm threads

i love how you are incapable of comprehension. i mentioned the system in relation to how hard it is to pass anything which ron paul obviously has no idea or else he wouldn't keep making insane promises of major change in the government. next time think, it can help prevent you from sounding like a jackass.

Coming from the kid who screamed crazy shit and told everyone to lynch themselves.

" ron paul obviously has no idea or else he wouldn't keep making insane promises of major change in the government. " Doesn't this sound a lot like every politician? they all promise ridiculous change, and for the most part do not come through. At least paul has been voting consistently according to his stance on different issues. Even if you hate what he stands for you should respect a man that actually consistently and is pretty transparent on his views.

As promising huge change... Remember the obama campaign? Everybody screaming we want change, holding up signs and what not. No real change ever came. We still print a shit ton of money. Obama trumped bush's horrible spending record in one year.

And btw, Being president vs. being a congressman are not the same role in government.

yeah because every politician makes promises like getting rid of the U.S. Department of Education, the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Department of Commerce, the US Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Homeland Security, FEMA and severely downsize the CIA. oh not to mention completely ridding of income tax and abortions. yeah that's insane, just like obama's promises of reformed health care and revoking of DADT... oh shit sorry not the same because obama is actually fulfilling those promises. whoops! sorry about that! i don't want a man in office who is consistent and stern on issues because no issue is cut and clean/ right and wrong. btw i think its hilarious that you don't think anything is happening even though big shit has gone down and he's only been in office for how long? shiiit. well here read this, i think TIME magazine is legit enough. http://www.time.com/time/politics/article/0,8599,1984460,00.html

Pretty much what I stated before, the whole matter is such that I dont think theres any logical way to be %100 percent for or against it, considering the huge moral and ethical dilemma of the matter.

For example, I cant see how someone can say that a fetus isnt 'alive' until it exits the womb - you have brain function really freakin early in development. But likewise, I dont see a small blastocyst of cells a few micrometers wide as a full blown person, with rights and liberties. Theres a huge grey area, and anyone who positions themselves firmly on either side is either oversimplifying the matter or are intentionally setting themselves up to garner the votes of people who oversimplify the matter (eg, dumbass Americans, liberal and conservative extremists).

love it, do the right thing KY. I was in your state two summers ago, good show, great food. Rand for senate.

Bi shit? Oh really. Small things sir, small things. How much more money can obama possibly print before his term is up. I wonder what company they get the ink and paper from cause they must be making serious loot.

And as far as time magazine... They weren't riding obama's dick for the last few years or anything.

funny how you consider health care reform small things and after multiple times of proving you wrong you now are talking about excessive spending which has been and is the most broad and widely discussed issue. way to jump on a bandwagon when you know you've been wrong about everything else.

btw you forget that time named Bush person of the year in 2004? so much for them being on a certain party's dick...

Lets see, Rand Paul is against the civil rights act of the 60's, thinks it is A-OK for companies to not hire someone solely because of their skin color. Also thinks we are being too hard on BP, "mistakes happen".

I share that sentiment, it's not racist to believe that a company should be able to hire whoever the hell they want to hire. If a black person happens to be qualified for the job, a company will hire them. Rand is against the notion that the government can legislate who you can and cannot hire. My grandfather went through this same shit when he was VP of family bank in MA. Government forced them to hire minorities. The woman was qualified and worked out well, but the idea that the government has the right to chain the hands of a company like this is fucking ridiculous. You wouldn't tell McDonalds they can't serve a Big Mac, or KFC to serve the Double Down (which I believe Colorado has outlawed-pussies) or shit like that. Why, in this day and age, is there a law protecting solely one group of individuals that forces companies to hire not based on merit, but based on some bullshit coerced quota system? I'm ready to be called a racist by idiots now, wouldn't be the first time. Some people don't know how real equality works anymore.

Assuming there is no regulation in the economy and the government is as "small" as possible, what is there to stop companies performing even more unethical acts towards people and the environment in order to make the most profit possible?

Surely the corporations that are responsible for these atrocities will just do it more without any laws telling them to do otherwise...
