Does anyone else think that this shouldn't be in the x games? The only reason it is an event is because Travis Pastrona does it. Driving cars is not an action sport. I am watching it right now and the spectator bleachers are empty. In my opinion, no form of racing should be in the x games.

i dont think pastrana is in it this year because he won last year, dudes nuts, and that shits pretty nuts i mean the more the merrier what else should be in instead

Xgames is getting ridiculous, they are just going for sports that the general public want to see. Pretty stupid but yet very smart move to make mad profit.

pastrona will be in it. he was pre-qualified. and i would much rather see fruit booting brought back along with the skateboarding doubles competition.

the only thing i pay attintion to on summer x is the rally. i think its by far the most fun thing to wach and by far the most entertaining. -k for all of you that think its not a sport, i would like to see you go out and jump you car 60ft while trying to win a race against the best drivers in the world

Rally is ok, but they should take out any sport regarding a motorcycle. Its fucking gayer than aids and I'm tired off seeing it. UGGGGH stop making dirt bike racing an extreme sport, its soo gay.

- karma to everyone who doesn't agree with you? thats pretty lame. i never said it wasn't a sport. i said it isn't an action sport. it just doesn't fit in with skateboarding and bmx.

so FMX best trick shouldnt be in the x-games? if thats not then i dunno what else should be because that sport takes the most balls out of any plus theres some rediculous shit that goes down i.e.

that was sick how he recovered. i respect rally car. i just dont think that it fits in with the other sports. this is my favorite rally car clip.

no i mean the dave mirra race, he backed up and went foward like 60 times his total time was like 6 minutes hahahha

i think its pretty stupid. entertaining for a little bit. but looking at all the competitors in the rally races, aren't pretty much all of them athletes who made it big in sports other than rally racing? thats what I find stupid, you can only do it if you have a ton of money so even if theres some kid thats a rally prodigy he wouldnt be able to compete, and thats one of the cool things left about the x games is all the new young kids that slay shit.

i wish they still had the skateboard racing, that shit was awesome but they could never make it like a good and standarrd longboard race since they never had the x games where there was a huge hill next door. Maybe they will bring it back tho since everyone and their mother longboards now.

There was actually a 19 year old racing today, which I would consider a "young kid slaying shit". Also, the majority of the skaters who medaled in the x games are in their 30's which I would not consider "young kids slaying shit" The fact that Pastrana and Mirra are doing it obviously means it is an awesome sport that they think is on an equal level to bmx and moto x.

this years event was really boring, mostly because they didn't change the course. If anything it speaks volumes for the cars, if Dave Mirra can get in a rally car that he can barley see over the steering wheel of and compete with drivers who acutally race in Rally America. I don't think it should be removed from the Xgames, but just make it more legit. Design a course that only real rally profeshionals can drive through and I think it'll greatly improve.

Mirra has been rally racing since last year. He more recently got his unrestriced Rally America competition license to allow him to run the STI that he used in the x games. It's not like he never raced before and just decided he wanted to be in the x games. He also barely made it out of the first round and got lucky in the second round when ACP got destroyed on the jump. I do think the first year of rally in the x games was more legit when it was actually a real rally race with several stages and the final stage was in the stadium, but the new head to head set up is more viewer friendly. It would be nice if they changed the course up a bit though because it was exactly the same as last year. And I dont see how you can call the course easy, not one racer came out of a run without fairly substantial damage. It was easy in the respect that I'm sure it got a bit repetative for the racers and the co-drivers were not really needed for a race like that but 60 foot jumps and super tight walled roads are not really easy. I'm sorry, but I just do not feel as though rally gets the respect it deserves.

agreed, although it would be sick. but they could easily build a halfpipe in the winter and have skateboarding and bmx in the winter olympics.

oh yeah i know, i never suggested it being an event, but like an exhibition for skiers to get together in the summer. just a thought

ya thats what i was trying to get at. now a days, with indoor ski slopes and the all the new technology, you can play any sport at any time.

All who dont think Rally belongs @ Summer X are crazy. Rally is most definitely an extreme sport. Granted Summer X doesnt do the sport justice, but just imagine driving 85mph on dirt roads in the deep woods of Maine (http://www.maineforestrally.com/nefr08-results.html ).
Check the vid of Pastrana murkin a deer and tell me you wouldnt get a rush from Rally driving. It is indeed an extreme sport.
If you ever get a chance to check out a rally event, do it. You will become an instant fan for real. Shit is so intense.

I enjoyed watching Dave Mirra total his subby....I like x rally, you didn't look at the shaded stand, those were full
