rainbow rail???

i have a question: how do u do a rainbow rail on skis ? the jump goes right up to the rail for snowboarders to just ride on but its not big enough for skiiers to jump onto it sideways. Any suggestions on how to grind rainbow rails.

jump like your going to go switch and just dont turn as much if the jump blow then just kind of come on smith ya know just half way side ways that how i learned

 
thats pretty much just jumping and turning sideways. you cant do that on this rail theres like no jump the rail starts like right on the ground.

 
you dont need a jump to jump can you go regular and then just jump to fakie if you can then you can jump side way onto a rail if you cant your screwed.

 
I actually just turn as if I'm about to go switch without jumping and get on it, you just have to time it right and do it quick so you don't lose speed. Can't do the rainbow at my local, though, since it's an idiot bar...it's waaay too short and steep. Totally built for snowboards. But there are quite a few rainbows that have a transfer to get onto the rail.

Our rainbow is set up perfect for skiers, where theres a gradual jump up to it and two bigger jumps on the sides to diaster it. But if you just slide real quick before the rail, that works too.

Just hit it fast enough so you can pop up onto the top part or the down side. I basically skip the whole first part because at my hill, it is also pretty much designed for boarders. I just keep a wide stance for it and pop up over the first up part.

first of all why is your name burton???? and i wish i could do the rainbow at my hill but it is a snowboarders only set up becuas the rail goes straight into the ground and the jump meets it at a 90 angle.

last year i would bomb in from way high and get side ways 10ft away and slide from there, took heaps of goes to make the speed but it looked cool.

i hate when the kickers for rails are basically only boarder friendly. its easier ot jump onto the rail
