Rails vs Jumps

What is easier for you, doing basic tricks off jumps or rails? My friends can do jump and some tricks off jump but they can't hit rails. I can hit rails, but jumps are also easier for me.

The NS search bar is shit. Type "newschoolers/(whatever thread you are looking for/want to make)" into google it works much better.

Looks like some gnarly "grinding" goes down there

It's in Wabasha, MN, so basically right over the border of Wisco. The park is definitely known for its regular runs more than its terrain park.

i think it depends on how much balls you have. I guest. For me rails are easier cuse i dont have enough balls to try something on a jump :/

I've been hurt more from falling on rails then on jumps, but that's probably because Coffee Mill jumps are tiny, I don't fall on them often, and the rails are death.

Jumps here in Wisconsin suck and are spaced so far from the landing u cannot get enough speed to avoid landing on the knuckle! So pretty much just rails for me. And rails are easier to progress on cuz u can do em anywhere (backyard etc.)

Some days im feelin jumps and puting everything to my feet, and then there's days im feelin rails.

Generally speaking though, jumps are more gratifying to land a hard trick imo.

I'm sort of the same way. Last time I went, I think i did like 3 rails once and i fell on one of them, but the time before I was sliding the sketchiest one just fine.

adding to this question…what do you think looks better? (i.e. nice rail game, or a nice bag of tricks on jumps)
