Rails Rails Rails

Hey all,

I've been skiing freestyle for ≈ 2 years now, maybe 3, and I'm still not very good at rails. I mean i'll try them, but i usually slip off to either side of the rail pretty early on.

Anyways, do you NSers have any rail tips? I really gotta get them down this year.

Thanks

there are a few things that you need to do in order to slide a rail

1. Aproch rail with it right between your legs, so if you were to go off the jummp and not turn, you would nut the rail

2. Pop off jump with skis shoulder width apart

3. Land on rail turned 90 degrees, the rail should be under your boots.

4. Lean forward and dont fall back

5. Keep your legs nice and stiff dont have legs like jello on the rail

and if you do that you should be good

look at the end is a good one.

Check out the trailer to Minor Threat. It features the best skiers from all over New York State (It's under the edits/shorts section or in Huckfest900's profile)

Peter: When you go on a cruise you need to build up a base tan.

Chris: But I heard that in tanning booths you can get something called Melenoma

Peter: Don't worry son that's just fancy talk for sexified.

Speed is your friend on rails actually, despite what you may think. One reason you are sliding off the rail early is because you don't have enough speed, and you slow down too much on the rail and lose your balance. If you keep your speed going into the rail you should be fine, it will help you sort of lock on to the rail and slide it longer. Follow the instructions ^^, and ^^^, that's all there is to it really.

keeping your feet shoulder with apart is a good tip, the closer your feet the less your balance and the easier you fall off, looking at the end of the rail helps too

'fuck park, skate city'

yea when i first started i always went slow so i never fell off, but yes speed helps alot

The number 1 thing is keeping you legs shoulder with apart. That is the biggest thing
