Rails at Whistler

In the ontario forum, there is a thread about rails that folks would like to see at Blue - there are some wicked ideas. What sort of thing would you like to see at Whistler Blackcomb?

I can't garuntee that they will get made, but I can garuntee that Stu and Steve and the crew will hear the ideas.

Id really like to see something like what was at the us open last year with the actual concrete stair set built in to the snow with a nice ledge(maybe even concrete?) and a nice double kink down the set. There also needs to be a rail gap, similar to the one Pep does in happy days and chriton does in RFA. But the most important feature that needs to be added is some sort of S-box or S rail.. maybe slightly downhill and really challenging. as for somethig innovative, there should be something to stall on thats not just another wall ride. Something like the well in happy days, but with multiple angles that you could hit it from. And there should also be a manual pad of some sort that you can do butters onto and off of. I know there was a litle table thing that was sort of used for that last year in January, but if you could include a jib so that it was butter, to gap, to box jib, to butter on the jib, to spin off, that would be really cool. There also needs to be some jibs on the side of the blackcomb pipe, many other mountains have these, but blackcomb seems to be lacking there. well thats my wish list, hope you take some of this into consideration.

I'll pass everything along man! I work for the marketing department for the mountain, and work with Stu a lot on a bunch of different things. There are some things that they just can or can't do, if you know what I mean for various reasons, but like I said, I'll pass all ideas on.

all that stuff that was siad is great just add a rollercoaster rail those look so fun

whos the pussy now, pussy

s-rail...make it big too...

double barrel rollercoaster rail

bigger banked c-rail...dave murray camp sized

you should take the pipe dragon and cut a right and left sided qp into the sides of the tables

60ft of table = 40ft of quarterpipe...just think how sweet that would be. or just make it qp to rail, with a 40ft handrail along the top, it would make for good qp jibs.

It woudl be really easy to maintain, just run the pipe dragon up the side of the table

Rails: S rail, or c rail - something curved

Some ledgy, kinked box thing - like they had at the US open, or at Park City

And a QP ! It would be sick to have a quarterpipe. But a decent sized one (ie, at least bigger than the pipe walls). Ooooh, and a spine with a jib on top - yeah!

Made in Tasmania.

not a massive qp, just the same size as the pipe, only cut into the sides of the tables...you can hit it like you are riding pipe, and go BIGGER!
