who wants to win a rail jam? on friday, december 31, big mtn is stepping it up and putting on a rail jam. it will be a jam format, as the name implys, and it will be determined out of two jam sessions. it starts at 5pm, under the lights above moguls. off the record, what i heard for features were: the new battleship box (up-flat-down), the flat down rail from last year, and a mysterious long box (i heard lengths from 20-40 feet, so i really dont know). so show up, have some fun and see how your jib skills measure up. i will also mention you need an approved helmet to compete, but you would wear a helmet anyway, right?

i will stop ragging on the reactors, i promise

fun things like picnicing??? ahaha thats like watching paint dry, sure picnicing would be fun if you invite 6 friends and you all bang the shit out of each other- lateralis

doug is on the freestyle team, and he is a nut. he is really good in the moguls, park, you name it he can do it. can you say cork 7s off a 3 foot mogul jump? i might place, because i figured out switchups today, and i got 270s off both the rails in the park today

today was frigid. it was cold all day, and my toes froze up in the afternoon. we had a little new snow, but the wind was blowing pretty hard, making it even colder. my christmas shin bang is getting pretty gnarly, but unfortunatly in 2 days i have to go back to school. check the rail jam thread for a complete report of the craziness that went down tonight

ok sorry, i posted the bit for the big mtn post in the wrong thread. tonight the rail jam went down, and despite the cold, it was still off the hook. about 40 people showed up to hike the three features in the dark, and it was pretty crazy trying ot get a run, as you had to stand around and wait to get picked by the cranky events director. the flat rail was quite fun, and slid really fast. i cant wait for that to be in the park. the way they set up the trapeziod/battleship box was interesting, with a roll-on in the middle and two tombstones on the sides. the flat down was pretty big, and it was intimidating for the first few times i hit it. by the end of the night, we has witnessed some great stuff, like 270s off and on all over the place, almost everyone disastering the flat down, and 4 lincoln loop attempts off the tombstones onto the flat landing of the trapezoid box. clint manning 3'd over the entire flat down, which was ridiculous, the kid has legs of steel. dever sported his super smooth style all over the place, and was disastering the flat down poleless after the end of the comp. i really dont remember the placing, but i took first in the skiier 15 adn older, and doug nagle took first in the skiier expert class. thanks to everyone who participated, it was sick. be sure to come out for the next one, who knows when that might be

yea dave, that was so much fun!! It would have been nice to have some more lighting, but it was a great start. I thought the setup was real good and you could flow into the flat down rail. the top flat rail was smooth but super slick for some reason, it was pretty cold. It will only be better next year.

that top rail was perfect i thought. nice and fast, it forced you to be centered if you wanted to clean it. it should be in the park this weekend
