Rail help?

so im new to freestyle and im just learning stuff in the park cause i have always been a pow skier more or just all mountain depends on how lucky i am :) buuut anyways i was trying to hit a rail the other day it was like a super sketchy rail out of pvc at my local hill it was a temporary little mini park and whenever someone would hit it it would bend and/or get pushed a lot (the rail was like a 4-5 inch diameter handrail).

anyways when i tried to do it (which was my first time ever trying a rail), i skied up to the right side of the lip and i popped up and got on it but the problem was that like i was almost jumping over it or something cause when i got on i would be on it for like a little bit then just slide off the left side about 2 thirds of the way down maybe less.

anyone know how to fix this? i tried widening my stance but it didn't work.. almost like i wasn't on the center of my foot.

thanks +k

You probably need to scissor when you get on it to lock on.

This. Also keep your center of gravity slightly lower and shift your weight over the rail so you dont slide off.

You've already called it: You're not on the center of your foot. You land on the rail too much on your heel, and you are unbalanced so you will slide forward off the rail.

I used to do that as well, but you just have to adjust your pop so you land more on the center of your binding. All it takes is a conscious effort.

it sounds like u need to lock in what i would is

1.go faster

2.make sure you're close to rail be right next to it

3 .and try to get the rail right under you're foot

if you don't get the rail under "you are" foot, you are not doing it right.
