Rail damage

Havn't skiied for a week, no snow downtown, so I thought it'd be a good idea to wax my skis before actually dropping cash a on lift ticket. Flipped them over, this is what I got.

The base is buckling in some spots, bent edges, and that cracked edge there. I'm not really worried about the crack, I figure I'll just straighten it and weld it.

But what about waxing over the parts on the base where it's popping up?

this might sound dumb but i would probably take it too a ski shop and at least ask them what to do and if you cant do it yourself they would be willing to do it.

im pretty sure that u can just wax right over it. shouldnt give you a problem... bummer about the ski though. that sucks

i had same damage and took it in. they fixed the edge after removing a lot of my base and filling it in with liquid base stuff (not p tex) but it only lasted a month. they didnt even fix the edge. just the buldge

The bump means water got under your base and started to pull it away from the core. Get it taken into a shop ASAP because it won't dry on it's own, it will just continue to pull the base away. They will have get the water out, flatten it out, and PTex that bitch up. Unfortunately your fucked edge might make it really hard to keep water out of the base for good.

Same thing happened to my friend. They gave it a temporary fix by doing the above but said in the long run he's probably SOL.

mine look like that they are on their third season if those are old and u hit alot of rails its kinda unavoidable eventually rails r gunna fuck ur shit
