Probably misspelled that. Anyway im going rafting tomorrow morning. Ive done it once two years ago with a MT hood ski camp, but this year the water is a lot higher so its going to be fast and REALLY cold. I heard the average temperature is 45. Its only a 14 mile trip so its not too long. But should i be worried.

Im not sure exactly the stretch were doing but they said that its all in mopin.

Oh yea and the reason im worried is that we dont have a guide. But we do have a few people that have done the same trip like 10 times.

I did a short trip (afternoon around Maupin) two weeks ago. The water was pretty cold, but it was quite warm in the sun. I am not an experienced rafter, but some of the rapids were pretty sizeable. I would think you would probably be OK if there are some experienced amateurs with you that know when the rapids are coming and how to position the boat to get through them.

A word of warning - the Oak Springs rapid below Maupin has nasty benchrock underneath it (they call the beds "diaper wiper", "cheese grater" and "meat grinder" - if you fall out of the boat, keep your butt as high in the water as you can and don't try to stand up - it will mess your shit up (it wasn't me that did it in our group :).
