Racers Need To Quit It....

I saw some racer at my local mountain rocking an XL Saga King Cobra jacket over his onesie. This was the worst I've seen yet, but I've seen a few racers trying to look like freestyle skiers. If you ask me that's just wrong, and extremely ineffective. It's makin me wanna get a onesie to rock in the park.

I have friends who do the school ski tean aka racing who are very good freestyle skiers.

They rock saga and jiberish to their races and steez it up on the course

Relax.

What is wrong with you? Who cares if racers are wearing Saga, its supporting the brand. Furthermore, so many pros used to race its ridiculous. I'm sure that kid also freerides a bunch and doesn't wear his speed suit then. And, he is probably pretty decent if he races and is getting into park.

many racers have twin tips too for when they aren't racing...It's allowed.

And like said above, there are so many amazing skiers out there that have a racing background.

I used to race, then went into big mountain.

Oh no! Racers are wearing your precious saga! What? Only freeskiers are allowed to wear saga? Its a free world. He probably shreds park when hes not training gates/racing. And he probably shreds it harder than you. Why is it soo wrong for people other than freeskiers to wear saga? Pull your head out of your ass.

I could really care less that they ski freestyle and race, if i could i would, but it just doesn't make sense to wear a jacket over a race suit, especially a tall baggy jacket. It kinda defeats the purpose of wearing a race suit

Saga is outerwear, outerwear keeps people warm. Racers wear very cold GS suits when they are competing. They need outerwear to stay warm. Racers and freeskiers alike want nice outerwear. Saga is nice outerwear, therefore racers wear Saga.
Is there anything wrong with that? Saga is geared toward the freeskiing world, but that doesn't mean a racer can't wear it.

pretty ignorant statment...

go ski around in a race suit, and tell how warm you are on a cold day.

They aren't going to do an actual race with that coat on.

It just seems counter-effective to wear something that is baggy. That would be like me rocking a race suit under a tall jacket while trying to look steezy, but maybe I just don't see their perspective since ive never raced

am i the only one who enjoys skiing over looking at people and passing judgement???

yeah yeah racers can be dweebs but don't sweat what they're wearing

reach down and pull your head outta your ass just enough that you can read this.

a big baggy jacket is warm. A race suit is cold. When not racing...in a race...racers want to stay warm. They then proceed to wear their normal jacket to keep them warm. Racers do not wear a race suit when they ski with their friends and family, they wear outerwear just like you and i.

yeah.... when i raced.. i once took a run through the park in my fart bag race suit....

and yes . those make you ski faster.

Yeah cause Saga is strictly only for THUG PARK SKIERS nobody is allowed to touch those pieces of outerwear but them.

Really? It's a fuckin jacket!

yeah I know guy who can do flat s (if you're on here don't break your ankle next time) and he rides for the race team, he says it makes him better at park and vice versa. who cares if he wears his "freestyle swag" when he races... he's probs better than you, just sayin

im a racer..but i ski park too..sometimes i wear my park clothes racing cuz their warmer and i can fit more layers underneath

If you talk to the better half of the park people, most of them have a ski racing background. Thank god they have. :D Nothing more ugly than freestyle skiers who can't make decent carving turns when outside the park.

i respect a dude who's trying to steeze up an unsteezy sport. some racers are mad sick, and bringing a little style to that really isn't a bad thing.

plus, maybe he likes to do both?

don't discourage people from spreading the freestyle love.

I fucking love to carve. Is it bad that I sometimes spend almost all of my day just hauling ass and carving the shit out of runs all over the mountain?

you have no idea what you are talking about. i used to race, and when you are in your skinsuit it is fuckin freezing, super cold. the best thing to have is a big jacket to cover as much of you as possible, i see no problem with this, it is up to anyone how they dress

First off. I agree with you.
Racers are fucking obnoxious and anything having to do with them pisses me off(besides skiing of course). When the go to the park and cut everyone off to do a sweet arm flailing straight-air, i just wanna murder someone.

yesterday at berkshire east i was training racing for my school, which is what i do every weeknight. i was looking FRESH if i might say so myself. i didn't go jibber, i went major bro. rocked saga pants, ROLLED UP for easier boot unbuckling access, and then i put my fucking SHINGUARDS over the ROLLED UP pants. on top i rocked a flannel under a vest and then a RACE HELMET and SLALOM POLES

i was waiting in line and some kid showed up in a very big saga jacket rocking like shitty ass twintips with look nova 10 bindings. he's eying me up and down like "dude i'm so sick, what's this racefag doing in my gear." well we get off the lift and he literally does not know how to ski. he didn't even try to look steezy, he just sucked. i went and slammed some gates into the snow in my SAGA which made me a better skier so i can go out and kick your ass. problem jibberfags?

are you kidding me. you dont know how many pro "freeskiers" started off racing. the biggest one i can think of is tanner hall. your guys heros and soul was a pro racer on the US world cup team at the age of 15 (correct me if im wrong). racing gives you so much knowledge of how to control your skis. and last time i checked you had to fill out a test to buy a jacket or pants off of the internet. if you didnt qualify on this test then they wont ship your jacket. at my mountain theres a couple of racers who couple probably kick your ass at skiing. and onesies arnt only for racing. Helly Hanson made/makes? the survival suit. thats a onsie and Burton made a onesie, DC made one. they are amazingly warm and comfortable.

a survival suit is not a skin tight, freezing cold piece of spandex designed to shave fractions of seconds off your time...

Im the racer hes talking about everybody and the fact that he took time out of his day to bitch about me wearing a saga to people hes probably never met before makes him a tool

Backfired thread has backfired. And the OP got hit in the face by the bullet, and is now in the ICU. Case closed./thread

who cares, skiing is fun and let the guys make it fun... for all you know they could of been really good freskiers too

Tanner quit racing pretty early, he was on the U.S. Mogul team at 15 though, check out Like a Lion for the details
