im planing on quitting football this year and im wondering what i should tell my coach and if i should write him a letter or call him or talk to him in person
 
depends on how long you've known him/been on the team and his personality.

Its best to tell him in person, next best is writing a letter, calling is probably a bad way.

Make sure he knows that your not quitting because of him
 
yeah if its before preseason its not too bad but if its preseason right now for you hes gonna think you quit because the practices were too hard for you
 
it really depends on how well you know the coach and how the team has treated you. not only should you tell the coach but also your teammates. if the teams been good to you and you want to leave on a good note then talking to the coach and the team personally is the only respectable way to do it. but if the team is gay and the coach is an asshole then go to preseason, play the first game and quit right there to be an asshole!

no not really unless your coach is a little guy (which i have yet to find a little football coach)

i never told my coach i quit, i just didnt show up to lifting and meetings and tried to avoid him and it worked out well
 
i don't know why you're making a big deal of it, just tell him. if you want to, make up an excuse like you're gettin a job or something.
 
i was thinking that but then he would ask where i am working and then he would stop by because he is real serious about football
 
dude he cant force u to play. jsut be liek yo i quit bro. i need more time to burn and think about skiing. thats what i told my track coach.
 
how about you ball the fuck up and just walk up to him and level with him. say. couch. thanks alot for everything you have done. but i have made the decision not to play ball this year. instdea of bein ggay about it...
 
wow dude its not hard to do. "coach thanks for all the seasons, but ive decided not to play football this year. i need more time for myself" or whatever your reason is, not hard at all.
 
lawl. tell him that you enjoyed football and all but when it really came down to it you decided you just wanna drop out of high school and all to pursue a career in pro skiing. ya dig?
 
i would but he makes you fell so shitty about your self for quiting like last year a kid did that and he said "go ahead be a jackass and abandon the team" the kid said something that i couldn't hear and then caoch proceed to say "get the fuck off my field you asshole" and just walked away from him
 
so fucking what. tell him you dont plan on playing it in college, and you want more time to do other things. and if he tells you that, fucking tell him off. if my coach did that to me id fucking flip shit.
 
tell him your grades are bad and you couldnt play anyways if hes gonna be like that.

but that sucks was the kid a dick to the coach or something?
 
wow then your coach seems like quite the dickhead anyways. so who fucking cares how you tell him? and when he says something and starts cussing you out, fucking flip out on him. that is really what i would do.
 
Just tell him that you are just exhausted, you can't really do anything anymore. Football has taken up to much time and you feel like your missing out on other things. Tell him that because football is taking up so much time that your school work is suffering and that its not that you don't want to play but its just too time consuming to focus on football and school. I don't know if he'll buy it but that would be the best way to go I think. Or you could attempt my way and just start not showing up but considering he recognizes you I don't think that way would really work out. Good luck mang
 
tell him how you feel and if he's being a bitch about it, he's a shitty coach. tell him its over period and then just walk away.

why would you ever call someone a boob? thats weird, but yeah just be like "coach i cant play this year for personal reasons" when i decided to quit after 5 years of play for the guy i just didnt play, and when he saw me around i said "yeah, i just didnt have time for football and school anymore" he probably knew it was BS, but whatever.
 
tell him in person. thats what i did with me. But I quit becaus ei hated all the people on the team and i couldnt work with them.
 
man up and tell him what ever your reason is(its probally weak and what he says might make sense) if your really have your mind made up it wont matter what he says
