Quitting smoking

For me, e-cigs were a god send. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but they were the crutch that got me off of regular cigarettes. But you're right, a nicotine addiction is a microtome addiction. I'm on zero nic juice now and doing just fine.

I quit smoking over a year ago and I bought a pack of cigs for my Halloween costume. Being drunk as fuq I smoked one and it felt great. Sheet son I really wouldn't have done that. I really hope I can just toss the rest of them later but it's super tempting to just smoke them all. I fucked up.

well i just bought an e cig yesterday. still gettin used to this thing. it definitely makes me cough a lot more than regular cigs. i think thats from all the tar left in my lungs and the amount of PG in my juice. I'm gunna go get some different stuff today to try out. i will say though the effects of the nicotine are much longer lasting than that of cigs

They don't pull or have the heat like a ciggy butt and the vapor dose hurt to inhale for a while. Something with the vapor iratates my throught so its not just you. I played around with the girlfriends vape and she has a nautalis tank that has a air intake adjuster and it helped the way it smoked and made a significant difference.

I'm not a butt smoker but have smoked a ciggy before. I do smoke a bowl about 3-4 times a week. Dont really smoke the vape anymore.

I've been a smoker for a little over 2 years now and i'm in the process of quitting. I bought a vape a month ago which has really helped. i'm down to one cig a day now. i highly recommend vaping to help you quit

You won't be able to quit if you tell yourself: "ill only smoke on weekends, then dim it down and then ill stop." won't work cos on a shitty day, you'll just "fuck it" and smoke one anyways. Here are a few ways that helped quit from a pack a day:

-Never, EVER, buy cigarettes again. (now for me that kinda work but since all my friend smoke, i ended up smoking a few a day anyways, just not mines. I'd even ask randoms in the street...)

-Get an e-cig if you feel awkward in social situations where everybody smokes, and ONLY USE IT IN THOSE SITUATIONS. Using it at home knowing that it's not bad for you, you'll end up using it all the time, paying loads and evidently end up smoking cigs cos fuck it. If you can be strong enough never to smoke when you're alone, and smoke your ecig "socially", it'll become easy from there.

-It's all in your brain, it's all about how you think, don't even bother with all the nicotine patch bullshit. The biggest things for me were:

Live by the fact that you're already the world's biggest idiot for having smoked all those cigs, and you might not be able to ski at 50 because of that. Yeah, you're a huge fucking dumbass. And you should beat yourself up for having the only thought of smoking a cig, common, wtf are you thinking?

If you touch a cig, you're a dependent ass loser. If you can't even restrain yourself, how the hell are you gonna live life successfully? You're bigger than this, you're better than this, and every cig you don't smoke is a huge "Fuck yeah, come at me bro, you got nothing on me bitch".

DO OR DO NOT THERE IS NO TRY (yoda few) This is your only chance not to fuck up. If you stop, you fucking stop. You don't try for a week. You get it in your head, you stop fucking around and you beat this bitch to the floor.

Good luck to you man, you can do it.

Buy a pack of the cheapest, nastiest and heaviest smokes you can find. Sit yourself down somewhere and chain-smoke the pack, make sure you do it one go. You'll feel so shit afterwards the thought of a durry will make you wanna spew.

Worked for me, but at my worst i was smoking a pack every three days, so it shocked the system a bit. haven't touched the things since.

Just out of curiosity and I know asking Dr.Newschoolers is never a good idea but I wonder how much damage does one or two cigarettes a week do to someone who is physically very fit?

Hard to say. Everyone's body is different. I would guess not much damage done if you some 1-2 a week. But the problem is, that it always progresses into more.

My grandmother will be 95 soon, and she still smokes a pack of cigs a day!! She has no lung cancer, or heart problems. She is a rare example, and is extremely fortunate. Her body has an increased ability to fight cancer. This is what her doctor told me a few years ago.

Don't go near chantix. That shit is terrible. My boyfriend made me give it up for a while, ended up getting back into it. My doctor has been up my ass about it now that I have a mini me cooking, so that got me to quit cold which has been terrible. Its one of those things that's different for everyone and you just have to find what works. Even just find something else to work towards as well as quitting so you aren't focused on it. The busier you keep yourself, the easier it is to fall back into old habits.
