In the official College quidditch tournament, the snitch is a national high-school cross country or track finalist. I'm pretty sure.

if that could be played with actually flying object like the book, it would be wicked fun, but this is dumb
 
I think you underestimate the awesome potential of this sport. It would be like a mix of dodgeball, ultimate and basketball. The only real problem is the snitch and lets face it, that is a problem with the sport in the magical world too. 150 points and the end of the game is way to devastating.
So, you make some minor rule changes to fix the snitch problem and then with get people who have a bit of athleticism and boom, awesome time.
Also, you shouldn't have to hold a broom between your legs, that just seems dangerous.
 
even if you don't worry about the fact that we don't have flying broomsticks, quidditch is a retarded sport because the scoring system is so dumb..getting the snitch ends the game and gives you 150 points.. so the only real job of the people concerning themselves with the "regular" part of the game is to not let the opponent get a 15 goal lead..

i'm a big harry potter fan but quidditch is the dumbest sport since lacrosse..
 
LOL at the huge black guy and the fat chick. That looks really fun, i've got to get my Draco costume from the HP7 premire and have at it with my comrads
 
Well there is a part in Harry Potter where Gryffindor need to get like 220 points to win the tournament so the amount of regular goals would still matter.

So even if Harry catches the snitch before a 70 point lead then they still don't win the tournament.
