Hey guys tonight im hitting my first urban so im stoked as fuck. My only fear is catching my edge on the rail, because the rail looks like a softer kindof metal. I also just had my skis "tuned up" and my edges were sharpened. So i was wondering if you thing i should file them down or to not worry about it. I usually dont have problems on park rails and boxes wt my edges but idk about this urban. I just dont want to eat shit to bad :) thanksalot

tuning your skis before hitting up an urban rails is a huge waste of money, do you have any old beat up skis that you can use?

and yes you should definately detune your edges, especially if the rail is aluminum or brass or something softer than steel.

in fact I wouldn't recomend you hit a rail thats soft your first time hitting urban.

But you should slide your skis along the rail and push down hard to see if your edges catch anywhere before you hit any urban rail.

i have old elan skis with no edges but there not twintips and i wanted to try some switchups and 2 outs and shit like that so id like to have the twintips. So use the elans or dull the edges on my fugatives??

do you have a picture of this rail? seriously id just use your elans, I destroyed the bases on my fujatives and they were incredibly slow.

yea ill prolly use the elans unless theres snow still over the sidewalk and stairs. And i have no pics of the rail, its really just a plain like 20ish foot donkeydick. Pretty plain, but a good first urban. thanks for the help bros, +ks for you
