Story: I was about to wax my skis when i noticed a huge chunk taken out of the bottom (middle of the ski).
Question: Should i just fill in the gash with wax or would that damage the ski even further? i really just want to get it waxed once for tomorrow because they are really slow right now and then i could take it in after skiing. Just need to know if filling in the gash with wax would damage my ski or not.

odds are it will likely just fall out... i've done it before and filling it with abunch of wax doesn't really hold up.

that always works, filling the hole with wax will do nothing it will wear out within a day. I dont even bother filling the gashes in my skies since it changes absolutely nothing in performance

Yeah, if you have a ptex candle or are willing to pick one up (they are like 5 bucks) you just light it up and drip it on to the spot, and scrape the excess off with a razor blade. Black works well, you have to be careful with clear because it will kinda burn but its just cosmetic, it doesnt really matter. Wax is alright though, shouldnt cause a problem.

^^^ no shit? i've always used black ... no reason, but i never knew that about the clear stuff. thanks for the tidbit. merry christmas
