Quick Question about SLC area.

Is it easy to get between resorts in the Salt Lake City area without having to rent a car?

I want to do a ski trip (Snowbird, Park City, Alta) in the beginning of March and I'd like to hit a few resorts. I have no experience travelling on the West Coast. I've been skiing Western NY my whole life).

Whats wrong with renting a car? Utah isn't the place to go without one you sort of need it for Alta/Bird even though there's probably some bus from somewhere (how will you get to bus stop tho etc etc) I would just rent. Book a refundable flight and cancel it for the day you want to return the car if you only have a debit card and are going to fail the credit check.

Gotcha. I was just concerned about how expensive it is to rent a car for a 21 year old and if there were cheaper options.

dude im 15 work 2 jobs one at Brighton 1 at a trampoline park down town and i get around everywhere using the bus, trax, frontrunner, and my bike and long board if you dont wanna rent just get a hotel close to trax or a buss stop and you can get anywhere, I can go anywhere from lagoon (45 mins north of slc) clear downt to provo (1.5 hours south of slc) without touching a car same goes for any of the pcmr resorts, the big 4 and sundance, but dont go to sundance its shit, just making the point that you could.

The bus to pc kinda sucks imo it's made for workers not tourists. If you had a car/when you are old enough to drive, I bet 99 times out of 100 you'll drive.

Anyways I'd say rent a car. If it's too expensive see if your parents can put it in their name and add you on or something. If you go public transit for your whole trip, you're gonna spend half our trip on busses and trains.

hes gotta point, if i had a car id drive but it can be done on transit however not sure that asking your parents to put the rental in their name is a great way to go ether, and if you do go transit you certainly will spend a tone of time on it.

If you wanted to *just* stay in PC, the city bus is pretty good and is free. I wouldn't want to deal with it to get around the mountains though to all those different ski areas.

public transit can be done. Don't be a puss. Plan ahead to book places close to good bus stops and don't forget you can switch hotels mid trip too. Like it says above, the bus in the town of Park City is very easy and in SLC the busses are everywhere, though not as simple as a system.
