Quick final cut export question

I've noticed that when I export my footage from final cut express that is always seems like the colors fade and there's kind of like a white film over the shots. The colors just seem to loose their saturation and become less vivid and (contrast gets less intense too). I've tried changing the bit rate, fps, size and everything but its seems that the colors are so much more dull after being exported as opposed to in final cut when I'm editing.
Anyone know if i'm doing something wrong here? Its not like the shots turn to shit or anything they're just a little less saturated and vivid.

yea that sucks, I used to have that problem. colors change depending on the format, it's weird. unfortunately i don't have any advice for you but the way i fix that is by applying the gamma correction tool in compressor and set it to 1.2. but that won't work for you since you're using FCE

ahh ok trust... I just got FCP again (I used to use it) so I'll try that. You think it may be because I record onto tapes? Would it turn out sicker if I was using a cam that recorded onto sd cards or some? I've never really tried any solid state stuff like that so I don't really have a clue

This has to do with how the colors are in QuickTime, i'm not sure how this works but go on dvxuser.com and see all about it, all i know is that the colors are worse in quicktime then in final cut, but still if youwant to see how your colors really are put it on your tv
