So I've been back there a bunch and need to clarify a couple of
items:
1) Is Mushroom Bowl on the backside of Mongolia? If not, what's
that called?
2) In what I call Mushroom Bowl, there is a clear section
that has slid in the past and I've been told to stay away from (there's a
cornice that forms on the top of it and runs into a bowl). Further over (skier's right of the slide
area), there is a ridiculous double to triple stager (Two to Three 30-35 foot cliffs in a
row). Has anyone ever ripped through there? I have never seen lines through
it, but am really tempted to venture over there with some of the more
experienced kids I go with that live in Vail.
Any comments would be
helpful. If this pic helps, it's skier's left (literally the next line over) to
this cliff I've been dropping.
And yes, we all bring adequate back-country gear and have attended avalanche training.
