Questions about Portes Du Soleil

I'm from Ontario, Canada and a university club that I am part of is planning a trip next winter to Portes Du Soleil. It's going to come to about $1,700 bucks for the whole thing, not covering food and booze. I think the price is alright if you calculate by how much per day so now I just need to know how the mountain is. Keep in mind that I'm from Ontario and the hills here are newborn babies compared to yours.

questions:

How is the skiing? Park? All Mountain?

How much snow is there? Will I need/want pow skis?

I will only be skiing on marked pistes but how is the safety precautions there?

THose are the questions I have now but if you guys want to throw in anything else that would be helpful for me, go ahead!

Portes Du Soleil is probably with the 3 valleys, the biggest ski area in the world, between France and Swiss you have 11 ski resorts all together with one ski pass.

If you´re lucky (i dont know the period you want to go) but most of the time you will get Powder, and as it is so big you will get many runs of untracked pow!

but if it doesn´t snow, you have a really good park in Avoriaz (french side) and some little smaller in Chatel (france) and Les Crossetes (suisse).

if u need more info let me know!

Thanks for the response man, I never thought I would get one. Almost forgot I even made this thread ahaha.

As I get closer to the date of the trip, I'll have more questions for you! Thanks :)

Sure, it´s a really cool place to ski! one of my favourites, and i´ve been around many places!
