Questions about mSnow

I'm about to buy mSnow, but just have some quick questions.

Does it damage skis after excessive use?

Will I notice an increase in speed over turf and lattice?

My main concern is just making sure my skis are okay. Pretty much every time I can't go to a mountain, I use my backyard setup.

I have the industrial msnow on my summer setup. It isn't something you should do with your best pair of skis. Id either use a pair of old skis that are too small or look around here on NS for an old pair. The wax definitely comes off of the bases. I notices that in the tails there were some gouges because in the tranny (mine is not abrupt at all) of the drop in sometimes the bristles nick the tails. Id say its worth it though. if your using it in the winter i would worry about any damage as the snow will be covered in real snow

tl;dr - I would get it. I think it is way better than turf because it lasts longer and goes faster. I think the problem of wax coming off of your bases could easily be fixed by a wax now and again.

Sorry that was so long

Thanks for the explanation. Yeah, I plan to use it right now through the next summer. I hope my skis don't get too fucked up by it though!

mSnow isn't real kind to skis, but it is faster than snowflex, turf, pvc, lattice, etc. The only thing faster is actual snow.

When you say "isn't real kind to skis," how badly will it effect skis and how?

If you wax (hot) your skis regularly, then shouldn't have any issues. If not, them your bases will take a beating, but it's not that bad.

Awesome, I'm definitely getting some then. Thanks for the help!

I've had my drop in for about a year now and I'm starting to notice that it has really slowed down. I'm having trouble now finishing the whole rail. Is anyone having this problem too? I have Mwax and I always us it. Is there any way to fix it with out replacing the Msnow?

The only other thing I could think of is to water it down a lot or hit it when the sun isnt beating down on it, like in the night or evening

well mwax is rub on. However I don't know how it interacts wth regular wax. I found using mwax after a real wax made my skis feel sticky. For the best speed, rub mwax on dry skis, as devoid of regular wax as possible. but this also causes the msnow to damage your bases faster. It all depends what kind of skis you're using. I had a pair of Junkers dedicated for summer skiing.

Mwax is rub on but don't waste your time with it, if you go to Walmart and buy the little swayed cubes of wax they work just as well, are a quarter of the price, and leave your skis smelling nice haha, also I've had msnow on my set up for 2 yrs now, it's fast, but hurts like heck to fall on, also would not reccomend using it for a landing, get an old carpet or something and when building your set up msnow is crazy expensive for what it is, so would reccomend using the whole "ladder" style of drop in with spaces in between the msnow, because it saves msnow and provides built in steps, and one last thing, I would not reccomend using ski blades on m snow, if you lean back and fall get ready, because you will be covered in brush burns

Overall I'm pretty happy with my msnow, I've had it for 2 years and it's held up great (I have the normal orange m snow)
