Question to anyone who rides berthoud/loveland pass

Would you pay someone for a ride from the bottom to the top? Not a lot, but like two bucks a ride or ten bucks for the day? I have a friend who needs a job and picked up someone on my way to Key the other day and it got me thinking...So, let me know what you guys think, thanks.

Could be sweet, but figure the cost of gas in doing this would be pretty high, that and vehicle maintenance.
but... having a loveland taxi or a berthound taxi could be cool but would make the places either more dangerous because of crowding or because of easier access for noobs with little experience getting their lives ruined on a nice rock outcrop.
I don't know what the laws would be on it either. the county would have some sort of taxi provision written in their laws somewhere that would probably have fees, regulations concerning weather and road service etc...
Keeping it under the table seems like a good idea but in my estimation it would be
$50 tank of gas but probably more due to driving all the way up and back as well+ insurance and maintenance costs (per day)
Maybe, $60-70 in total costs..
If your buddy were to work a $9/hr job somewhere say 9-5, he would make $72 a day.
Even if it were a 5 hour job, it would be $45... so $60 in total costs plus $45 for a "worthwhile" day he'd need 11 people paying $10 a day. Sounds ify
That said, if he's going to shuttle I'd pay $10 on a pow day.

Maybe he could turn it into a business...?

Yeah, he has a mini van and I have some old ski racks he could throw on their I figured it would cost him about fifty to sixty bucks a day, but at the same time if you could get four people in the car that is forty bucks, do that for three groups of people and you're looking at 120 a day, so sixty bucks profit. The legality of it may be an issue, he'd really just have to try it and see if it works.

sounds stupid

i would just wait for the next car to come that would give me a ride for free
