Question on SMS pant sizing...yes I searchbarred

Like the title says, I DID try the searchbar, but most/all of the questions were about XL or XXL stuff, so it didn't help much. I'm 5'6 125, and wondering if I'd need a medium or large if I got the SMS Mrider pants. I don't know much about pant sizing, but my Burton pants in small are pretty tiny, and are too small even if I were to like sag them to my knees. I want something that I can wear comfortably high and still be baggy, but not like enormous. For an idea of how big I want them, I want them to about match my coat in fit/baggyness:

when in doubt get them bigger. It sucks to have pants that aren't big enough and is nearly impossible for L pants to be too big so just get L.
 
Yeah...that's probably a good call, especially since they have to last me a couple seasons. I just figured I'd posts since I've never tried on medium or large pants, or any pants from SMS, anyone else have advice? Thanks.
