PX12TI - Making Wide brakes - need info

So i got my PX12's from SAC in the mail today and was hoping it wouldent be to difficult to take appart and bend the brakes wide enough for my Elizabeths. Turns out its going to be hard. It doesnt look like i can remove the plastic around the brake so using a blow torch to heat and bend is out of the question.

Has anyone attempted to bend these brakes before? Any info before i spend the $40 on wide brakes and bend them by hand.
 
on the tgr boards there is an absolutly brilliant thread on bending brakes. I beleive it was for rossi bindings but should apply to looks. i'm too lazy to find it for you but have a look there. hope you find it
