pvc vs metal rails

why dont ski areas use pvc rails instead of metal? pvc doesnt hurt your skis at all and it is bendable. pvc seems to even slide a little faster than metal

my ski area has had some pvc rails for 3 years now, they just use the sewer pipe grade

they should, that way when it does get damaged some how (not to mention our bad snowcat driver) they dont have to spend a bundle replacing it.

i can't jib at all on metal rails but my nieghbor last winter build a 12 foot pvc pipe and I could do anything on it, one foot, 270 on 270 off but I can't slide a metal rail in the park everytime I hop on one I fuck myself up kinda weird guess i'm just scared of them

pvc rails break easily and they cant be shaped like metal can thats why ski resorts dont use them

ya i havea pvc pipe in my back yard and if it is not secure enough it will bend like crazy of just fall over, and its just plaingly not sturdy enough it broke right wen things started to melt

metal i sharder stronger easily bendable, generally slides faster, more durable, doesnt wear off really easily, you dont catch your edge in it in conclusion metal rails are happy. dont worry about wrecking your skis, if you were completely careful on them you wont have any fun and it wouldve been better if you bought cheaper ones you werent afraid to break. as long as your careful and give your skis loving attention rails arent that bad for them.
