I build and maintain the park at my local hill. I was just wondering how well pvc rails hold together. I saw some this summer at camps in whistler but they looked gheto. What about them breaking when its cold as hell out. we get realy fucking cold here. What size and wall thickness should i look for. we already have 5 or so metal rails and im thinking because it would be cheeper to use pvc. i want more rails in my park. jusrt wondering what yall thaught?

no, no and no. they will be used by many people and will chip really quikly. in the long run i would be better to get a metal rail.

im sorry but if i was in charge of the park at a local mountain and i used pvc for rails i would be embarassed. the summer camps in whistler have like a 20 foot pvc rail that just just stuck in the snow for kids learning. please do not use pvc

why the hell did you bring up this thread made in 2001 by the park manager at marquette mountain(correct?)
