i have this dope set of rails in my backyard. but there made of wood. they slide but not well, what would u suggest to put on top to make it slide super smooth

drill a hole from the bottom and bolt them (only on the ends since that is the only place where you can reach them.

plastic sheeting, or pvc sheeting. in the back of home depot i saw these things for making a shelf with. they had a nice white, good sliding surface. they were pressboard though so i didn't think they would hold up, i also had no money

take the pvc pipe and drill right throuh it make the holes small and you want have any problem. i did the with mine.

PVC, or make a topsheet out of decent plastic... Lexan or something like that..

Or just join the build a jib cult.. and read about any one of like 300 threads in there.

ANGLE IRON, you can immitate a flat bar with 2x4s 2x6s and angle iron, not as cheap as some alternatives but it will outlive pvc and hdpe

My dad and I made a pvc rail.

(1)What we did was take a 2x4 and put two, two inch pvc pipes on it.

We used toggle bolts http://www.homedepot.com/prel80/HDUS/EN_US/diy_main/pg_diy.jsp?CNTTYPE=PROD_META&CNTKEY=misc%2fsearchResults.jsp&BV_SessionID=@@@@0384602284.1138765547@@@@&BV_EngineID=cccfaddglkdeghjcgelceffdfgidgnk.0&MID=9876

(2)First we marked a line every foot and half.

(3)To get to the right spot we clamped the pvc pipes and just judged it. Two at every line.

(4)Then drilled a hole the size of the screw at every mark.

(5)After that we drilled a hole in the pvc pipe the size of the toggle bolt.

(6)We screwed in the bolt that came with the toggle bolt. On the opposite side we screwed on the the toggle bolt.

Now the hard part.

(7)You have to make sure the toggle bolt spring in to place and fit right in the tube or it wont work.

(8)Tighten down the screws only till you have to use pressure to tighten any more.

(9)At this point make SURE all the toggle but are sprang open.

(10)After that tighten everything down.

It all costed less then 30 dollars.
