Pushing Pivot Brake Arm Back In?

I managed to pull one of the brake arms out and bent the plate that holds the arms together, as shown in the pics.

It appears that the arm isn't bent, it's just partially yanked out. I can't seem to push it back in though, so I'm wondering if anyone knows how to do this? I'm a little sheepish about taking the whole heel off as inhttps://www.instructables.com/id/Rossignol-FKS-Look-Pivot-Binding-Repair/, but I can for sure bend the metal back into place on the plate.

I would say that it’s a matter of deciding what you’re willing to do. From looking at the photos, it looks like you have one of the connecting arms (I don’t know what to call it) broken. Reality is, you need to replace that (unless I’m seeing wrong) and probably need to take a hammer (or use your hands....) to adjust the housing back into place. I remember while working in a shop, I had to do this once or twice. I ended up calling the distributor for a new piece every time. I never had to do work like that on Looks, so I could be way off, but that’s just my two cents.

But looking at it again, I could be misunderstanding. Could you take more photos?

Yeah, let me know if you need a specific angle.

I'm willing to beat the housing back into place, but I'm struggling to return the arm to its usual position. For whatever reason I can't push it back into the heel.

I had a similar issue earlier this season where I landed switch, carved a bit heavy and the brake caught and wrenched out to look similar to yours. I spent a while fiddling with it before I just ended up getting a new baseplate as I couldn’t get the brake back into the housing. If it’s a park ski then you could just remove that brake so it doesn’t drag but I couldn’t figure a way to just fix mine unfortunately

Looks like your heel afd plate is pretty broken. There should be a plastic piece in the middle that holds the spring and the brake arms in place, also as you mentioned that metal piece is bent/detached. Both of these things are going prevent the brake arms from staying secure in the plate and so they'll just fall back out if you put them back in.

I might have an old plate on some broken brakes I could send you if you want to try to fix them. It wont be too easy though, you will definitely need to take the whole brake assembly apart to jam the arms back into the plate.

The thing is, both arms are needed to keep tension on the plate. I'll probably have to get a new brake assembly just because I don't want to worry about my liability if I go without a brake.

I have the little black plastic piece. I managed to get the arm back in by gently tapping it with a hammer. I reassembled the brake and pulled the arms+afd (with the plastic piece in the correct position) over the spring it usually rests on with some effort. I thought I had it, but clipping in a boot causes them to slide back in front of the spring. I think this is because of the bent rivet on the underside of the afd. Your guess is probably correct about needing to take apart the whole heel, because if I properly hammered the afd back together, I wouldn't have the space to put the assembly together again. I can post pics in a bit.
